Hey

what was that Jet City Head that was supposed to be a hand wired copy of the Cornford that was at NAMM a few years ago?

Anyone here have one?

I think they called it the Earhart, and I doubt more than one ever got made. Someone on here or on HCAF has or had that one, though.

They had a black one and blue one available as demo units. So I think at least two were built.

I owned the black one for about six months before moving it on, I bought it from a guy named Doug who was a partner in Jet City.

What happened to Jet City in general? Seems like the only things in stock anywhere are old units from before they changed the cosmetics.

Thanks.

Probably needs a another round or two of verifications but unfortunately that seems pretty legit.

Every source I have seen says there were 2 built. One blue one that has been demo'd at NAMM and a guy from HC had it on loan for his own demos (although he claims there are 3 in existence, and for all I know he very well could be correct). The other was black. At the NAMM show it was the one opened up for the gut shots next to the blue one. Looks like the black one went through 3 guys here on RT haha. I'm the current owner of the black one:

love, Love, LOVE this amp. Currently I'm running Chinese pre's and =C= EL34. When it's time to retube in a month or so I'm going to switch to 6L6 and a select set of pre's. I almost traded it for a 101b, but after that fell through I decided that I'm just going to keep the thing. I also got in contact with Martin Kidd, and he has confirmed that it is the same amp as his Cornford MK50H II, but without the secondary effects loop. He said there may be a couple component changes, but he said he'd gladly give me the rundown on what I would need to change if I want to get it up to Cornford spec. :D

Can't speak on how it compares to a Cornford since I have not played one much less heard one in person, but I would believe the Earhart would sound the same, based on what Martin has told me.

Wasn't there a guy called "Drew" (aka "FastRedPonyCar"") who had one?

I'll hopefully have a couple more by the end of the week. maybe a drop tuned/boosted demo and jam track video or two.

Really impressive amp

He only had that on loan so he could demo it. And as awesome as he demo videos are, it sounds even better in person. It can get really heavy if you want to do palm muted type of metal with it, but it's best suited for higher gain rock where you want every note in the chords to shine as well as lead playing.
