Jiggling pot shafts

Any of you have guitars with volume or tone pot shafts that jiggle?
On my 4 electrics only my 24yr old Strat has 1 pot where I can feel a light jiggle.

I just received a new ESP and all 3 of the pots jiggle.
The tone pot is really bad, so much so that even a light touch of the tone knob results in a "tink" sound from the pot.
If I move it with my fingers it makes "tink" rattling sound easily and loudly.
The other 2 pots aren't as bad, but not that far off.

Just wondering how common this is because this is the first time I've encountered a guitar that has pots this bad, and I'm shocked that it's on a guitar made by ESP in Japan.

Sweetwater is sending me a new one, and I really hope the pots are good.

I have an older hamer that does this with all pots but haven't gotten around to fixing them yet.
I'm pretty sure this happened by leaving it at the practice spot and guess it got thrown around a lot without being put back in it's case.

Damn other guitarist :jerkit:

Is it the pot shaft itself moving within the potentiometer or the potentiometer just being loose?

It's the actual shaft within the pot, not a loose pot.

The knobs are held in place with a set screw. I made sure they were tight, they are.
I then removed them and jiggle the pot shafts, they are loose, that's where that's where it's coming from.
Very poor quality control from a company that is well know for excellent quality control.
Other than the pots the guitar is gorgeous.

Luckily, Sweetwater had another one in stock and it's already been shipped to me.
They said they checked that one and no issues with the pots or anything else.
I'm hoping it's all good.
