What position are you using them in?

I was hoping to try these out in my wizards.. I like brighter cut tho. Are you saying they are a darker tube? how about microphonics in a high gain situation? ive heard that long plates do not fair well in high gain circuits, however, one of my wizards has them in all positions and they sound pretty darn good.. sovtec lps

They're pretty nice. They have a thick midrange that's a bit like an EI Yugo from what I remember, but way better on microphonics. The top is bright but smooth. Brighter than a regular JJ ECC83S.

not for combos. the go wobbly really fast, IME. as in, too much high volume vibration, and they're going to start talking back.

the tone is so/so.

go for the ecc83s, it's a better sounding, more defined tube.

I have one in my Mak4 slot 3 (clean channel) and I love it. I think JJ says it's not a great choice for high gain amps due to microphonics.
