Jammed with some friends today and we were in my small basement. I had my JJ Jr. at about the 10 o'clock position and was plenty loud to hear myself, even with it down at my lower leg level. I am using the Friedman 1x12 with it (that I just recently bought) and it sounded really good! I used the JBE channel. I had a Keeley pedal in the loop as a boost and sounded good for solos. If anyone is wondering about the JJ Jr., it is LOUD. :)

good to hear. cleans too?

Oh yeah man. I didn't have the cleans up that high either and came thru nicely. I should have cranked the amp to see how loud it would get but I'm pretty confident it is loud enough. I was standing a few feet from the drumset and he was hitting them hard. My buddy's "Godzilla" bass rig was pointed at me and I was actually standing on the side of my cab a lot of the time. I remember back in the day when jamming, I always felt like I was leaning back with my ear trying to hear myself. I was pleasantly surprised with the Friedman. I had the presence and treble at around noon and then the mids were at around 10 o'clock. It wasn't hard to hear at all.

My question is this.... When the amp is loud enough for a band setting, is there headroom left? I run an EQ in the loop for a solo boost. Tried this with a Bogner Atma and at when it was loud enough to play with the band I had nowhere left to go and the EQ in the loop did nothing.

I run mine through a Marshall 4 x 12 with greenbacks and it is a wall of sound

I still want to mess around more with it but I did have a boost pedal in the loop and when I hit it, the volume jumped up enough for me to easily hear solos. The Master Volume was only set at about 10 o'clock. I'm not sure how much louder it gets but hopefully some headroom there.

I'll have to mess around a bit more next practice.

Yeah, the JJ Jr., PT20, and DS Mini are all impressive amps. I had no problems with drums and bass using the PT20, and the dirty channel of my JJ Jr. was totally adequate. I wish there was a way to make the JJ Jr's clean channel a little louder but it sounds incredible when it's loud and broken up.

I run my JJ through 3 4/12 cabs W/D/W... sounds amazing! Killer amp.

I don't know if it is my ADD, love of a nice half-stack, or a fan of a nice, clean, uncluttered setup, but I could sit in front of that rig all damn day and meditate.

Looks great man! I think I'm going to end up getting a 4x12 down the road for this damn amp. LOL

Btw Splawner, what pickups do you have in those Les Pauls? I have a 2019 Standard that I love and a 2013 Classic with Motor City 2nd Degree Blackbelts in it. Wouldn't mind getting a heavier sounding pickup like an Aldrich. I used to have one and sounded killer.

Both have Gibson 498t pups in them. They sound wicked! Great pups. Nice output and very balanced. I also use a 500t which is also killer. Try the 498t I think you will be very happy with it. And by the way the one on the right is also a 2019 Standard. Very nice fiddle for sure.

Nice! I think I had a 498t in one of my SGs years ago. I had the 500t too in an Explorer. I have rarely found a pickup that doesn't sound killer in a Les Paul. Those guitars are great platforms for tone.
