I checked all the factory presets, many great tones for a starting point. I'll need to do some tweaking but all it really needs is a little reverb IMO. I will also try Kurt's suggestion to use both L & R Speaker Emulation outs into the Bose L1. The challenge with the Bose is that it isn't designed for use in a small space like my home practice space. So at low volumes in a small space it doesn't have much bottom end, so little in fact that it sounds like there isn't any at all! I can compensate for this by playing at louder volumes to drive the bass modules more, which I did when the family was out, or boost the low EQ on the Bose for "family at home" volume levels. If I compensate in the JMP-1 or other preamps, then I'd have to make adjustments at different volume levels.
The output of the JMP-1 is hot too, its clipping in the Bose, I've got the input level set to 8 o'clock on the Bose, with the JMP-1 output level set at 9 o'clock. The level on the JMP-1 Speaker Emulator outs is set to -20 dB too.

This thing is smokin' hot with the Marshall tones I'm after.
Next up, is to figure out how to get the best out of my gear, stop looking at the GAS generating forums like this one, then figure out how I can start creating clips to share. I think I need to learn to play the guitar first too

after hearing the skills of everyone here, I realize how much my guitar playing really does suck.
