Do you know who is the Head of the Bureau of Labor Statics???

Well... do you???

The head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) is the Commissioner of Labor Statistics. As of August 1, 2025, Erika McEntarfer is the Commissioner. She was nominated by President Biden and confirmed by the Senate in January 2024. The BLS is an independent agency within the U.S. Department of Labor.

The Commissioner leads the BLS, an independent statistical agency, and is responsible for measuring labor market activity, working conditions, price changes, and productivity in the U.S. economy. The Commissioner serves a four-year term.

Shocking! Just like Captain Oatmeals job numbers went up... and were later "revised".

In better news...

Trump fires labor statistics boss hours after the release of weak jobs report

Trump called the data "rigged" and implied that BLS Commissioner Erika McEntarfer manipulated the numbers "for political purposes."

President Trump on Friday accused the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Erika McEntarfer of faking jobs numbers, directing his team to fire the former President Biden appointee.

For all of President Donald Trump’s promises of an economic “golden age,” a spate of weak indicators this week told a potentially worrisome story as the impacts of his policies are coming into focus.

Job gains are dwindling. Inflation is ticking upward. Growth has slowed compared with last year.

More than six months into his term, Trump’s blitz of tariff hikes and his new tax and spending bill have remodeled America’s trading, manufacturing, energy and tax systems to his own liking. He’s eager to take credit for any wins that might occur and is hunting for someone else to blame if the financial situation starts to totter.

But as of now, this is not the boom the Republican president promised, and his ability to blame his Democratic predecessor, Joe Biden, for any economic challenges has faded as the world economy hangs on his every word and social media post.

When Friday’s jobs report turned out to be decidedly bleak, Trump ignored the warnings in the data and fired the head of the agency that produces the monthly jobs figures.

AI is taking more jobs faster than expected.

I started working in AI in the dark ages (1980s), and my first AI system I wrote and deployed (1988) automated health care claims processing; reducing the need for highly skilled claims adjusters; replacing them with data entry operators. The first version started on simple healthcare insurance claims, and subsequent iterations expanded to include more and more complex claims, saving the company millions every year.

Nearly every AI solution I worked on simplified human tasks, eliminated human tasks, or combination of both. Even systems that started out as AI assistants for humans, or simplified human tasks eventually eliminated the need for human workers.

The latest generation of AI (agentic) is going to accelerate this process; and we haven't even seen the combination of AI + quantum computing, but that is already being created.

white collar office workers are losing their tech/corp jobs by the thousands, and those jobs are not coming back.

dRump fudged the numbers for May June & July. One revision was only 19K jobs created when dRump said there were 145,000.
Fuzzy math just like his tax cuts.
Everything that guy touches turns to shit.
And there it is
