I've been watching some newer Joe Walsh live performance videos on youtube, and I noticed the Strats he uses have necks made of some sort of exotic wood, most definitely not maple. The wood is much darker. The headstock is a Strat shape. One set of videos he is on a Fender badged stage.....would they let him play a custom knock-off on their program?
Or is there a Fender custom shop Joe Walsh Sig. model??
What the heck is he playing?
Thanks

I know he's a Carvin endorser, has an ad with him in the Vintage Guitar mag I got in the mail today. ;)

I'm seeing the Eagles on the 6th, I'll ask him. (ok, I'll just look at the jumbotron from my 5th row from the back of the arena seat, but I'll keep my eyes out.)

:D

I've got a January 1988 Guitar World with Walsh. In one pic he playing a custom Tele made by English Luthier Roger C. Giffin. He also shows off about 15 of his other guitars all of which are LP's and Strats. But he also had a 1983 Schecter Strat pictured.

I had a flick through some eagles vids the other day and noticed the same thing. He seems to have a black strat with a rosewood (or more exotic neck). Check out this vid, its definitely a Fender, you can see the logo on the headstock:

Fender Custom Shop search for "Joe Walsh" comes up empty.... :(
