Seems like a real nice guy. He's got some talent on that record...WOW! Jeff Scott Soto is one of my favorite singers!

.....still don't understand why he doesn't have his own BE. He's been using yours for a while now.

wait a minute
this is the dude that wouldn't return your amp after you generously donated it for a session
and when you were left with no option but to drive cross state to get it, he gave you nothing
so you put him straight later in good old New York fashion
after being outed online, he rolls and you finally get a show invite
but not to the closest one as that had passed in the meantime
and now you're promoting his stuff?
look into my eyes
when I count to 3 you'll wake up
and all will be back to normal
and you'll remember this guy is in it for himself
I won't even buy the Purple album after reading your story

I thought I heard Soto right away in that first tune. That Russell Allen cat can sure sing though, sounds a lot like Jeff to my ear and that is a great thing. To me this is going to be a bitchin release. This is what I like to hear from musicians, strong rock but with melodic hooks and people who can sing. There is even keyboards! I will pick this up.

I got ya beat.....I have a Rivera TBR 1SL that used to be owned by Jason Bieler of Saigon Kick. A fellow RTer pointed out that Michael Wagener said on another site that Skid Row used Jason's Rivera's to record Slave to the Grind......actually I sold the amp to my drummer, and I'm sure Mr Bieler had/has more than one....BUT STILL that's pretty cool! Lol...anyway thats very cool that you have your amp on a disc..and my god what a collection of rigs you have!

I was bummed for sure because it appeared like I did a favor and that favor wasn't appreciated and Joel has gone out of his away to apologize for any misunderstanding. The dude was about to go on tour with Whitesnake. I have to imagine he was a bit pre-occupied. He is a human being just like any of us. I'm sure there are times when all of us didn't handle certain situations perfectly. I have spoken to Joel in person and via text many times since that happened and I sincerely believe he did not mean to cause me any disrespect. For me, it's in the past.

About "promoting" him, it's not very often someone records an album with one of my amps. I am pretty excited about that. Plus, the music does sound pretty kick ass so who doesn't want another great melodic hard rock album to listen to
I'm pleased you came out of it feeling well.
That was down to your good nature IMO.

Awesome Alex! Can I use one of your Camerons in your stable to record my upcoming LP?? It will probably take 8-10 years to complete (think Tool or Metallica :D )... I'll return the amp then.

Cheers bro,

Cory

Speaking of guys that rip, when is that new Sykes album coming out? These two albums would definitely give me something to listen to.

There were updates on his website late last year saying stuff is being worked on and should be coming out soon...... no news since then.

Yes it is! I think I got the bug about the TBR when I read your post years ago about how Skid Row and SK toured together and the Skids loved his tone. I realized after seeing a pic of the TBR that my drummer had one...but it was the low gain version. So I contacted Jason...and he sold me one of his! Very cool and approachable dude Jason is...I asked him about boosting it and he was 'pretty sure' of was an SD1...and he thought V30s as well. I got closer with an eq pedal. But its still available to use as my drummer has it! Best clean channel of any high gain amp I've had. Great loop and the cool thing is you can run ANY tube you want in it almost. I had EL34s on one side and 6550s on the other..2 separate 60w power sections.

Meh at best. I've seen Joel play love a few times. Monster player so for sure. I was excited when I first heard about this but the clips I heard just did nothing for me.

Monster player though

Man... that's quite a line up for this record. Soto, Appice, Sherinian.
Cool stuff for sure!

Exactly.....Alex, That was a cool thing to say. Some guys would be quick to go on the internet and bash the guy right away for not being a saint. Seems like you handled the situation well and kept your cool. You might think twice about it next time in a similar situation but thats life.
