I thought I would share that the Jose Modded Marshall I purchased arrived today. Unfortunately, I am at work and will not be able to play it until tonight. The amp once belonged to Bryan Jay of Keel. This has been confirmed by several people including Bryan. The amp is suppose to be killer. I will report back after I have had a chance to check it out. This is the amp that Peavey used as a prototype for the VTM. It is also suppose to be the amp used by Bryan to record his guitar parts for the VH1 movie Hysteria.

Awesome...congrats! Please provide us with your thoughts after you spend some time with the amp.

Awesome ken!!....

man, being stuck at work with a jose modded marshall at ya feet and cant plug her in...

looking forward to hearing your report/verdict!!...

man, that had to be torture - I think I would have started feeling sick and have to go home :D !

I have had a chance to play it for about 30 minutes. Definately a high gain mod. It has plenty of volume and girth. Gain is there but the notes are defined and clear. Cool amp. I will update when I have more time with it.

if this was the proto for a vtm peavey i am glad that you have it in your possesion/ hopefully locked in an underground vault. they were that good ;)

I have never heard this amp in person that is being talked about in this thread, but I can tell you for the last 12-15 years Mark Cameron always was talking about the KILLER Jose mod that Brian Jay from Keel had. I guess Keel got an endorsement deal with Peavey and Brian was just going to hide his Jose Marshall behind whatever Peavey amp they wanted him to put up on stage. But Peavey insisted they were going to build an amp based off of this Jose mod that Brian had. Supposedly they did and it was the VTM series. I have only messed with Peavey VTM amps for maybe 10 minutes but I could never get one to sound good. But according to Mark Cameron the VTM amps can sound killer if you can figure out the right places to set all those little dipswitches on them. And if I remember correctly, Mark said only the 100w ones could sound that way.

So anyway kgp1 now owns one of THE amps that Mark Cameron always raved about as being a killer Jose modded Marshall.
