1st concert I ever saw was Priest's "Point of Entry" tour back in '81 I think. Opened with Electric Angles I think. Guitars rising from below the stage, lasers, smoke, Halford on his Harley. Just sic. Love Priest.

New singer sounds good, but Priest will always be Halford to me. I guess the Ripper sounds pretty close though. I just don't like their new guitar tones as much. They sound very compressed. Maybe my computer speakers? But the song was pretty cool. Maybe I'l check the album out. Thanks for posting.

Rob's been back for several years. They have a new album with him on it and have been touring for it the last couple years.

I dig Ripper's stuff for sure but Halford will always be the true voice of Priest.

+1

Always been a huge Priest fan. Saw them with Ripper before Halford came back, at the Warfield and they just slayed. Great show. +1 on the guitar tones they use these days. The older straight modded Marshall tones they used were excellent.....but thier the rock stars, not me :D

Gotta love Priest.
Saw them a couple years back with Halford and a long time back on the Defender of the Faith tour.
That show ROCKED!!
But I do love THE RIPPER Owens!!!

Yep, I agree. Halford is THE voice of Priest, but I still dig Tim Owen's Priest era a lot.

I too like their old school sound but I also like some of the heavier stuff too. Jugulator was a real heavy album and I swear there are a few parts of that album that sound a lot like Metallica and even Megadeth. Very awesome. That was 14 years ago though. The new stuff is heavy too and I like it just as much. In fact, I'm a fan of almost everything Priest does.

i definitely missed out on the prime-time priest era of the eighties but painkiller was the album that got me hooked on priest. i've seen them 3 or 4 times since halford came back and every time they sound fantastic and put on a really great show.

just saw them in august 09, 30 yr british steel aniversary tour. these guys still bring it, just awesome. halford is back and in charge, if a bit overweight.
