Don't know if y'all have seen these things, but you've gotta have an iPad to make this device worth anything because it totally runs off the iPad, but integrates with the board. Here's a link to the device, but it's freaking wild man! I've never used anything like it, but it sounds good, really good, but like all things electronic and multi-optioned, I have my share of difficulty. If there's anybody else out there that has one please contact me. I wanna figure this thing out!!! Thanks dudes and here's the link: http://www.digitech.com/en/products/ipb ... pedalboard

congrats man, let us know how you like it after you get a hang of it.

the only thing that'd make me a bit dubious is trusting my gig to an electronic device like thta.

Definitely an interesting product. Seems promising from what I've seen. I'd be interested to know what you think after you spend some time with it as well.

the guys at my local guitar center were opening up the box to test it out for the first time all excited, cables in hand, big old image on the front of the box so there is no question what is going on,
and i asked where the ipad loaded with the proper software was

"what ipad?"

i'm looking forward to hearing this-their products are normally pretty high quality in sound, but digitech suffers from a very dated brand name, like the peavey logo, rocktron--

one of these systems designed by fractal would really be something.
i'm still waiting on a fractal iphone app--i dont care about 100 amps. give me a fender clean, a bluesy plexi tone that rolls clean or plays with a pedal for crunch/lead, a nice cab, and nice compressor, hall reverb and tape/digi delay and analogy chorus.

I don't really get the dated name thing. All I can say is the RP1000 is pretty awesome. The only thing I would like to have different is to be able to IR's with it.

As opposed to a non electronic tube amp?      ;)

Just justin' your balls.

Would love to hear how this sounds. And yes, a Fractal one would rule.

You can take the iPad out for gigging.

Yeah I was looking up higher in the foodchain at units like this. Kept coming back to this and thought might as well give it a shot. I'm really happy with it. 4cm works really good.

haha yeah I guess tubes as just as unreliable....but at least that all they do..... reproduce music. Whereas an iPad you have it loaded with books, apps, games and whatnot, it can crash just as an iPod would... I don't know man heheehe but it's just like everything.

Definitely an interesting product

The last post very much applies. The iPad sometimes turns off the app midstream but the tone stays where it was set. You just have to reopen the app & you're back in business. Hope they get an update that'll fix that. Otherwise its pretty killer & very cutting edge technologically. Just need a little more manual reading time to learn this stuff!

I've got one of these things. I was definitely attracted to it because of the killer interface via the iPad. That's been the drawback to entire RP series - not a very visual interface. The sounds have always been good. Now they have an editing interface that kicks ass.

But remember - you only need the iPad for editing the iPB-10. Once it's set, you can leave the iPad at home of you want. Just label your 10 switches and you can gig without the iPad (I have).

I just use it for effects (multiple time based effects at the same time), but it does the job well.

I really want to try one of these but don't have the extra 5 bills to throw down on one. I'm loving all this iphone/ipad guitar stuff.

I didn't find anything wrong with the old editing software for the GNX stuff. Very easy to use. Looked just like stompboxes.

I don't have anything against the GNX stuff. It's the RP series hardware interface that's a loser, imo.

It goes from this:

Yeah, I've heard some of your clips. Very realistic. I really like the one where you're getting the boosted plexi sound and roll back the volume knob for a cleaner sound. I heard it over at TGP. That's where I've found most modelers to be lacking. Not much dynamic when rolling the volume.

I've been thinking of picking one of these up to downsize my pedal board. Use the 4CM. I was wondering what you thought of the stompbox models? I've been thinking of going entirely to this thing for modulation and delays through the loop and stompboxes out front. I was a little leary of the stompboxes though. I need to get something new anyway because my headphone jack shot craps on my GNX 3. I use it to practice and learn songs. Hell, I see the RP1000 for 250 bucks online at guitar center used all the time.

Cool thanks. I have a bunch of pedals that are also modeled in the RP1000. They are pretty much dead on. The only one that isn't is the ADA Flanger. The original can do all these wierd spaceship things that the models never get right. Other than that the TS, SD-1 DOD 250 Boss OC2 and CE2 are all great.

The layout of the RP1000 is very easy to get around and use. I ditched my pedalboard and run it 4cm. Works great. The software editor is needed for editing some things though.

I may have to pick one up and give it a go. It would be so much easier for me to do patches than to do the stomp box thing. I have a true bypass switcher but your still tap dancing quite a bit. It really surprises me that you're that into the rp. You are sort of a purist when it comes to tone. Gives me a little more confidence to buy.

I got it for the stompbox and other fx as well. Amp models always suck IMO. I've never heard any that are good. Never ever ever, but since I've got a Wet/Dry/Wet setup, I'm confused on how to hook it all up, so I'm calling out my guitar teacher who's also a gear guru and probably could do alot that Friedman does, so he's gonna let me try the iPB-10 versus my TC Electronics Nova System, and see which one I think sounds the best. We'll see what happens and which one wins!!!!
