Just bought a Gibson Les Paul DC

After hunting for Gibson Les Paul's for-like-ever, I finally found a steal at, of all places, Guitar Center!

Its in pretty much mint condition and Steve at the GC in Aurora, Illinois gave me an unreal steal that I never even saw on eBay. I should get it sometime next week. Any other Les Paul DC players here?
 
Yep I have the exact same one... its one of the best players that I have ever owned!!! Very underated guitars! Congrats.

Thanks, man. They were extremely helpful and made buying from out of state (I'm in Texas). Shipping was peanuts. Now I'm just going crazy waiting for all the gear I bought over the past week to show up next week.

How are the pickups? Are they hot enough? The only one I played had Duncans and not the original pickups.
 
If they are the originals then they are plenty hot... I think they are either burstbuckers, or 498t and 490r, but yeah... they smoke!!! I put bareknuckle painkillers in mine... just because I love painkillers!!! How much did you score that for? Did it come with the USA gibson case?

Those pickups are perfect. I got it for $999 with original Gibson USA case.
 
Good deal, I got mine for about that much... except it had sperzel locking tuners on it. Should have probably sold for less, but who cares... it was a good upgrade for me!

Beautiful guitar! I wish I still had my 97 DC. It was a great guitar.
 
Yeah??? Ill sell you mine for $1000, with the original pickups... but you would have to wait until I got home to uninstall them! Let me know if you want it in about 6 months from now!

Dude, I would have totally bought that lol. Did you just decide to sell it?
 
HAHA!!! Its just a spare of the moment thing my friend! I would definatly sell it to you anytime, and if you wanted to have the BKP Painkillers in it, just throw $250 extra at me for them and its yours... and as a bonus inside, I installed a RS guitarworks kit on this thing... and it just brought the guitar to life in a way that I was skeptical to believe, but did once I changed the pots and pickups!!! It would be a killer backup for you if you can afford it!
 
When I was looking for a Gibson I looked at plenty of those DC's and I really liked them. For me, they were much easier to play than a Les Paul. The heel is smaller. Great tone.

Of course I ended up with a LPC that weighs a ton and plays like a truck, but DAMN does it sound good.
