Got one for $390 shipped on Ebay, I thought that was a pretty decent price. I've been considering downsizing my rig for a while now, and I'm hoping this 2x12 will sound pretty good with my 5150. If it does, I'll sell my Bogner cab and have some extra cash, if not I'll just sell the Mesa back for the same price I got it for. What do you guys think of the Mesa 2x12's? I've really only heard good things about them.

Cool!

I want to like 212's so much, but i can never get into them.

Yeah? Why is that?

I've only ever had 412's.
I think it has to do with the way the sound hits you.
It could just be me also...

I wish i could replace my 2 412's with 212s :(

What kinda price would you sell it for? Inquiring minds would like to know. ;)

Probably start it at about $900 on Ebay, $50 or so for shipping. They're $1150 new plus shipping.

Turns out the guy I bought the cab from was Marshall Freak!

Charlie (MarshallFreak) is an awesome guy to deal with. Charlie if you are out there, what all else are you selling?

I saw that he has a red Bogner XTC on Ebay. :inlove:

I've owned 2 of the Mesa 2x12 and thought they were great cabs. Should be a good match with your 5150.

Sweet, that's what I like to hear.

I dig my Recto 2x12, and I dig the Mesa V30s. Both have worked really well for me, and the size is manageable for quick setup/tear-down needed at a lot of these multi-band shows. I don't really find it harsh either, some have mentioned that of the V30s, but for me, it cuts well without being obnoxious.

mega,

have you ever checked out the peavey vtms or peavey butcher? someone was raving to me about them yesterday

Can't say I have man. I doubt I'd like either one more than my 5150 though. :)

I have a Mesa 2x12 halfback loaded with Vintage 30's and it sounds killer. I throws a ton of bottom end without being boomy.

I got one as well, with the MC90 and EVM. But i think the newer Recto cabs sound a bit different. I played a ton of shows with a vertical Boogie 2x12 with V30's. It worked well and it was actually louder than the Marshall 4x12 i had that was loaded with old Greenbacks. And the Boogie cab was 8ohms where the Marshall was 16ohms.

I'll tell you, my IIC+ sounded fucking awesome on that Boogie 2x12, V30's work fine with certain amps. I never heard the mid spike or harshness some people talk about and for agressive modern metal it was great. And that 2x12 was loud enough to play any club, the only thing is that the sound comes off it like a laser beam. Take a few steps to the right or left on stage and you won't hear it as well, stand right in the middle and BAMN. My soundman always had me point it anywhere but at the soundboard or else he couldn't hear the rest of the band.

I love my Recto 2x12 too.
Great cab!!
Great tight bottom end and clarity in the top!

Love it!

It's an older TAT in the Red Sunset finish. One of my favorite finishes they've ever done.
