That was awesome. You guys know how to do sport as a huge spectacle. It was New Orleans Saints 37-32 San Diego Chargers for those wondering. High scoring game, great entertainment, just a really cool day. Although, there were a few confusing moments when my loose grasp of the rules got the better of me...

Here's a couple of pics...

Nice to see Brees beat his old team, that dumped him like yesterday's garbage.

Not sure why the NFL didn't have a preseason game in London instead of a regular season game.

What was with the field, the announcers once again complained about the turf most of the game? Is the field needed for a soccer game not that critical?

yup, nice to see Brees blast the chargers. Great pic bro!

Wow, cool pics. Good to see that you were treated a high scoring entertaining game. I do prefer to see offensive scoring over defense.

Giants came out with a big win today against the Steelers, pretty close good game.

The turf was cutting up pretty bad towards the end, but I think you use longer, thicker grass than we do for football (soccer). And whilst a good pitch isn't critical, it's not usual you'll see anything below an extremely good one in the top league here.

For example, check out this grass...

i'm from new orleans. life long saints fan (sometimes sadly). thanks for the pics. it was a good game. lots of penalties. there were a few obscure rules pulled out of the bag. for example, the safety that brees opted for at the end. that was a bit of "game management". i'm glad you enjoyed it... incidentally, i've played soccer (football) my whole life as well.

Great pics man. Looks like you were fortunate to see a good game too.

Yeah man, that safety at the end was a true "WTF!?" moment for me. I didn't even realise what the hell happened until the Chargers got the ball back with a couple seconds remaining and I noticed it was 37-32 and not 37-30 anymore :D Then it all clicked... I was kinda expecting him to take a knee but then he did that. I noticed quite a few penalties too, like when it looked like there had been an interception for the Chargers with about 5 mins left in the 4th, only for it to be called up. Oh and man, those goalposts are really quite flourescent. They look yellow on TV

But yeah, I really enjoyed it and found it interesting to see the players changing up all the time between plays etc - something you don't really see on television coverage.

By the way, how do Saints fans feel about one of their "home" games being played in London, England?

Yeah, very. I think the game in London last year ended 13-10, so we got lucky.

I think it'd mostly come down to soccer being more spread out, so there's less wear and tear in one area of the field.

Dude, that's great for you but that is the second week in a row that Philip Rivers lost the game for the Chargers by throwing into double coverage. It almost looked like the same play. Rivers choked twice in as many weeks to lose the game for us. Maybe he has a block in his vision when he looks slightly to his right?

Cool pics. You should've kicked the shit out of that dude in the Homo shirt. I'd love some pictures of that prick all banged up.
