Just saw this video of Ozzy and thought I’d share

That was 2003. Jason Newsted was on bass.

That summer was Ozzy's low point, drug-wise. Dr. Feelgood was hooking him up with 42 different medications to treat various conditions. The wakeup call was when Ozzy sang "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." After that they fired his doctor and got a new one who cut his medications down to three, just targeting his tremor (which he diagnosed PRKN 2).

I saw him live shortly before this video. It was my first concert. Ozzy had definitely taken his Flintstone chewables, because they went for two and a half hours.

It's kind of funny and pretty fucked if you think about it. All the shit Ozzy did over the decades, and none of it affected him nearly as much as prescription drugs. He was on Adderall, Valium, Ambien, and dozens of others and he was basically a zombie.

Seeing Zakk live that year single-handedly convinced me to pick up the guitar. I'm going to a Zakk Sabbath meet and greet next week and I'm gonna get that stub signed.
 
I have no idea why, but I really want a glass of milk now.

I was just telling a friend last night that I had gotten jaded with concerts for about a decade, then I saw Ozzy w/ Zakk in 2018 and I was 12 years old all over again. Ozzy was out of key, didn’t care a single fucking bit, that dude was putting on a SHOW and just doing the Oz thing. Zakk killed it, had the huge ass cable he came way out in a festival audience during his solo with, that one show totally hit my reset switch.
 
The first 3 Ozzy albums were the soundtrack of my teenage years but holy fuck........where are the painkillers that were recommended for Dokken's audience?

Ozzy has a magnetism on stage that's hard to explain. Even if he's outta key and can barely move, there's just something there. I dunno what it is.
 
I saw him on the "No More Tours" tour... then he toured for 2 more decades... I saw him several times at Ozzfest and I always enjoyed it. He never sounded bad when I saw him thankfully. Zakk was pretty amazing when I saw him on the no more tours one. Don't know if he played with them on the other shows (Ozzy wasn't the only one who was fucked up). I was and still am a huge black sabbath fan so it was awesome seeing them together
