What super unit!! I will say that it is pretty big but that doesn't bother me. There is no instructions with it which is odd but I didn't need any. Very easy to use. The delays are amazing like you would expect from TC. The analog delay is a huge improvement over the regular Flashback. I like the 2290 the best and the 2290 with modulation is just incredible, you really dont need a chorus pedal with it. I've never used a looper before and I checked it out, very easy to get going and really cool! I can see using that a lot when I want to jam by myself. I know I havn't went into full detail so it's not a great review but I will say the pedal is outstanding!! Well worth the cash. With discounts at music store's you can get one around $200+ so it's a win win!!!!!

I had this pedal in my hands the other day and have heard nothing but good reviews,I guess the flashback regular is out the door!!! Oh Happy Birthday!!

Thanks man!! I wouldn't say the Flashback is out the door, it's a great delay pedal but the X4 just so much better!

Happy Birthday!

Haven't tried the X4 yet but I keep hearing great reviews. If I wasn't already happy with my delay choice, I would definitely be giving this thing a go.

Thanks Ryan!!

I was already looking at one based off the reviews, but after reading your post.....I decided to get off my ass and get one coming! (THANKS! ;) ) Got it for $200 shipped!.....although, it's backordered and not suppose to come in until the week after Thanksgiving. For anyone else looking to score one for $200, I ordered mine from Musician's Friend. They've got a "15% off an item that is $199 and up" promotion going on. Wasn't too hard to get the extra 5% off. Simply told him that I wasn't able to spend anymore than $200 at this time and if it'd be possible to get an extra 5% off.....put me on hold for less than 30 seconds....came back and said "Sure!". Gotta love Musician's Friend if for anything else....they're at least flexible most of the time.

just used mine tonight for the first time live-barely know how to work it yet-
i was literally unscrewing the back during soundcheck to flip the dipswitch to buffered bypass, and just as i plugged it back in the soundman was ready to check my lines.

so far so good...i have a 2290 short delay, a dotted eigth u2 tape delay, and a long ep3 tape modulated delay which i tomeprinted in with my iphone, as presets 1/2/3, which is so cool over the original. it stores the settings, tempo and all, just by holding down the preset button you wish to store it to by holding the button down for 2 seconds.

but as fate would have it, i just had the best tone happening with my rig prior to switching to x4 so it's back the drawing board!

the thing is quite huge! turn an iphone sideways, and it's two high and two wide-
benefit is i hit the buttons without fearing my size 12s bump something else.

Yeah it is pretty big. But a great pedal, I'm really looking forward to learning what all is does. I still haven't even check the owners manual on line yet.

so i was pretty darn happy with the pedal overall after it's first weekend with my live rig

i'm not a big U2 disciple so i'm still sorting out the level and feedback values on my dotted 8th patch and whether it's 2290 modulated or roland space echo, but the EP3 toneprint is killer as always, and i have a analog hi roll off patch as my 3rd sound for a solid "always onner"

just read the review of it in gp magazine beating out the dl4 as the editors pick for sound quality

The fact that it can handle hot, line level FX loop signals, is true bypass, and has a true analog dry thru, is worth the pice of admission alone. Not sure if there's another delay in its price range that has all those features.

I bought the vox delaylab couple weeks before they announced the flashback 4. First I was a little disappointed but the vox is pretty stellar. I use my delays with killdry so my original signal stays clean avoid that whole a/d/a deal. I'd still like to compare these two as far as the delay tones but for features, can't beat the vox. 10 banks of three. Digital read so you can dial in exactly the mil sec. Killdry, spillover, etc. Anyone out there tried both?

I've got an x4 ordered and on the way. Seems perfect for what I need it for. The toneprint idea seems like a cool idea but seems kinda a hassle to download each one individually off the tc site. Should be somewhwere where you can download a bunch of them at one shot, no?

Does anyone have any experience with both the Flashback X4 and the BOSS DD-20?
I currently have the DD-20. Intrigued by the X4. Wondering if I'll experience a significant difference sound-wise to justify the increased real estate the X4 would take up on my pedalboard.

If its not too much trouble could someone throw up some dimensions? Can't find it anywhere, even in the website.

iPhone 2-wide is about the width(landscape) of an iPad. Whoa.

I'd like to get some exact dimensions. I was just about to cable my "B" rig pedal board when I started researching this new TC unit. I'm putting the project on hold until I figure this out. Looks like I may be able to get rid of my 2 DD-5's and the chorus pedal and replace it with this one unit. This may change my entire layout.....ugh!
