Played JVM first time with live drums and bass.. I thought it sounded pretty good and seemed to cut just fine.. Goofing around on some Maiden today but only one guitar so kinda lame. Quick Losfer words hack.. We are just starting with some Maiden tunes this week so it is rough and comes complete with multiple brain farts, but whatever.. Do you like clams?

High tech room recording with a 57 and a E609 draped over a mic stand. Lol. USB Volt 276 into Garage band.

Thanks for listening. Hard to listen to because I spaced out like 2 or 3 times on the same part.. To be fair, we don't know the song yet and that was just a first run for shits and giggles. Our other guitar player broke his hand surfing and that song, at least the first part can still fly with one guitar so we winged it Shit fell apart, and frankly never got locked in to begin with.. but I thought the sound for a crude recording was passable.. and the JVM worked well in the band context and did not sound glaringly weak or tinny compared my JMP's. so I was pleased in that regard. Thanks again for checking it out.

If this thread should have been combined with my other JVM thread, then please delete and I will post clip and or clips there. What ever is appropriate. I dont want to be a thread bogart and not sure what is proper etiquette since I don't post that often. Thanks.

Cool tones . Glad to see the love you have for it
Thanks Nick. Not sure I would call it love for it.. but I like it and it fun and forgiving... I think my other amps sound "better" if push comes to shove, but the feature set is good for doing covers and I do like it. Next time we jam I ill use my 2204 and a couple pedals and and see how that goes in comparison. The JVM definitely works. It gets the job done for these needs and I do love getting new amps so I am happy with it.. especially at the price point. hard to beat in that regard.

I recorded our practice yesterday but it is embarrassing to post these clips because there are some ultra cringey worth wrong notes and train wreck moments, but I guess that why it is called band practice. We are down one guitar player, so I jump around like a spaz. it is was it is.. but it will get better. This is literally the first time jamming these songs. I got my wires crossed a few times and had some horrible moments, but at times, we were grooving along. Singer is half our age and does not know the material but he tried on a couple but very buried in the mix. other times bass player just shouting to help keep time.. LOl. This is as naked as it gets.. Flame way.. LOL

Thanks for posting, the 2 mics do a pretty good job of capturing the band. I've been wondering about a good way to do that. Believe it or not I kinda like it when live shows aren't perfect.

In an effort to apparently never be pleased, one of the things that kinda gets me with the whole digital vs amp thing is that live shows sometimes sound almost too much like the albums. I guess I really appreciate the rawness of it making the live version its own thing vs a 1:1 of what was done in the studio.

I have very little to no experience miking, or playing in band so if you like imperfect, I'm your guy. :ROFLMAO: I am just an old broken down ex surfer with a lifelong latent guitar hobby I am finally putting to use for some retirement age rock and relaxation.. trying get a bandt together, but I live in a small coastal town so it is extremely limited. I feel lucky to have found the guys I did. Bass player is a legit bad ass and drummer is no slouch. It is good for me to play with other musicians for a change, and especially ones who are better than me. LOL.. thanks for listening and commenting. Cheers.
