Today I saw a JW Van guitar on Craigslist and started reading about the company, etc. I called the guy and asked if he would like to trade for my G&L Legacy. We discussed it and after a few hours, he decided to trade. The guitar looked even better in person. It has two things I've never owned before, Lollar pickusp and Hipshot tuners. Both are great!!

I have played a ton of guitars between 1985 and now. This guitar plays and sounds better than nearly anything I've ever played. You don't hear anything rattling, etc., noise is very, very minimal, and just feels and sounds phenomenal! I was so impressed after only a few hours of playing that I feel like I'm going to want to eventually plan and order one.

This guitar on their website looks nearly identical to mine but with different pickups:

Anyway, if you ever have money to burn I recommend getting one of these. Great guitars!!

Nice looking axe. I've seen a few used but never moved on them. Good to know they are quality. Congrats

Thanks! Yeah, it is like a one-man deal as far as building and he does everything from building to painting himself. I was reading some reviews, etc. and people were saying his guitars are getting better as he learns his craft. I thought it was pretty cool with all of the factory builds, etc. these days.

Oh I should mention that the pic above is not my guitar, it is the one on the website. Mine has black pickup rings and chrome pickup covers. :)

Looks cool, I like that bridge. Id bet its pretty light too

Oh yeah, it is super light! I probably lost five pounds between the G&L and this guitar. :)

The bridge is nice. The thing that is blowing me away is the 24-frets and the access all the way up. I've owned a few Gibson SGs in the past and never would consider them "shred" guitars up that high on the fretboard. This guitar has the easiest access up there.

The neck is thicker than I'm used to. Not sure what type exactly it is but probably close to a 50s neck on a Les Paul. Normally I don't care for those as much as 60s necks but this one is perfect. I think the seller said this was made with 50-year old mahogany wood but can't remember.
