What do you think about this tremolo ?

Maybe in near future I can mount this bridge into my axe , or I will just buy another guitar with Kahler.

Opinion are so various ... One opinion tell us that this tremolo can be a real bit** cause it still go out of tune while bending strings etc , other opinion - brilliant bridge , great sustain and tone and Floyd just sucks.

But ... WTF ? If Kahler really sucks , Jeff and Kerry King will throw out this and just put Floyd ...

I'm really interested in this bridge , I like the "less wood cutted = more wood in guitar" idea.
Oh , just post opinions about this exactly model or any other you used.

The fact that the guys from Slayer use them just proves that they suck! I've used them, and don't care for them. If I'm gonna use a locking trem, it'll be a Floyd.

Can you describe it more ?
This tremolo is really bad ?

They look like they would be superior, with the extra adjustments, rollers, etc...but I found they just did not work as well as a Floyd. They do not stay in tune as well, and you seem to loose more tone/sustain imo.

I do prefer a floyd, but a properly adjust kahler will stay in tune just fine. That said, most people don't know how to adjust a Kahler.

All the extra adjustments just make it a pain in the ass to deal with.

Kahlers don't have the range that Floyd's do, at least IME. They feel like a tune-o to my hand which I love, and I've never had any sustain problems with a Kahler.

It's just a completely different feel, IMO, and if you wanna do the crazy dive bombs and shit like that, I would just go Floyd. The Kahler is for more subtle applications but will keep you in tune

got one on a Jackson i bought in 87... it was so fckn horrible i threw the bar away and the lock nut...bought heavier springs and wound it all the way back an never touched it again..... it still is a hideous stand alone bridge for stable tuning... BUT! it is comfortable for the palm

I hear that, some people just can't get on with them. My friend had an old san dimas Charvel and never had a problem with the tuning with his old Kahler Pro. Then after decades he tells me it won't stay in tune and he can't understand it. I told him that it needs to be adjust it and he didn't get it. He finally found someone that knows Kahlers and it is back to staying in tune. That said, some people just don't dig them. I, myself, prefer Floyds and TOM setups, but I have no problem with Kahlers.

You really need to try a properly setup up axe with the model you are interested in, and decide if it is for you. It is a personal thing. They are definitely not junk, but feel diferent than a floyd. I have had 3 in the past and wouldn't hesitate to get another.

Wow! Lotsa vehement hate here. Strange, it's just a Tremelo kids, it didn't back over your cat.

Selling my last Floyd equipped guitar to stay with my Kahler Pro loaded Rich.

No tuning issues since I had it installed in 83.
Low profile.
Can't "push" it sharp with palm muting.
Can drop the strings OFF the fretboard divebombing, then back to perfect pitch.
It Is a different feel. Better IMO. Way More control, more nuanced.
Can Pull up as well. Floating Floyd's will drift with pressure, or cant pull up at all.
Break a string on a Floyd, your fucked, tuning goes out everywhere. With my Kahler the rest of the strings stay in tune.
AND I can change a string off stage. Try that with a Floyd. You always need a backup.

I gig with this regularily, I've been fucked by a floyd
onstage, never by my rich.

Try one out. I find it more scalpel, than machete.

Thanks. I wouldn't have posted if my real time practical usage onstage didn't color my opinion. Again, not for everyone, it's a light touch to take advantage of it, but it's far superior in application of whammy.
