REALLY quick and dirty clip. I profiled my '70 Superlead - jumpered channels, hotplated it and cranked as loud as I could stand. Problem was, I was getting a radio station through my mic cable (which happens ALL the time, it's not a Kemper deal, my house is really close to a transmitter and I probably have other issues too.) So I couldn't do a ground lift which made the radio station worse... so I had a horrible hum. Still got this though, and it's not bad! Going to see if other rooms in the house might be less subject to interference, or just use a MUCH shorter mic cable.

Anyways, here's a one take, clam it to hell Panama cut. Backing track was in 440, so pitches seem a little high. I still think you can hear some Marshally goodness though.

More than SOME marshall goodness there, sounds like my 77 SL with PPIVMV!

Man no tweaking for an hour, just profile and go.

Can you explain what involved in profiling?

I plugged my guitar into the kemper, then kemper into the amp. Kemper output went to a full range speaker or could have gone to say your recording monitors. Also hooked up a mic to the speaker cab the amp was hooked to, mic plugged into the kemper.

Hit the profile button, it made weird noises through the amp for about 50 seconds. Then I clicked the refine button and slammed some power chords for about 20 seconds. That was it.

Yeah, that was right off the profile. You can also 'post tweak' the amp and add stuff like power sag, definition, pick attack, EQ and even add or take away gain. I bet I could get a lot closer with more time invested. But I never could get this close with the Axe Fx.

Checked out the website.Looks pretty amazing. Can you export and import profiles, and trade them? That would be pretty cool if there was a library of profiles of killer amps you could load. I would imagine you could. What would be the fun of only having profiles of amps you already own?

You can trade em like baseball cards. :) Except you get to keep everything you trade.

Even if I could only profile my amps, I have a diverse enough collection I'd be happy. But hell, I could take the profiler to a decent sized amp fest and go to fucking town! :)

How does it sound on higher string single notes when all that was profiled were power chords? I am having a little trouble wrapping my head around this??? But then again, I was the guitar player that always found something else to do whilst the PA was being set up...I think it was the whole pre-fader/post-fader thing??? I am really intrigued with this Kemper robot!!

Man, lets find a good time for me to visit and I'll show you while I profile your amps :)

Basically it profiles by sending these bizarre tones though the kemper - they are sweeps of different tones, kinda like when someone is using a pink noise generator to set up an eq. You do the power chords to 'refine' it - it uses the intermodulation between the strings to refine the profile somehow. It works great, even on higher notes.

Absoultely! Hit me up and we'll get together. If I can see first hand what this can do and It can profile my amps??? HOLY CRAP!! I won't be able to spend the $1850 fast enough!!!!!!! I get to profile your amps as well right??

Absolutely amazing. How are the EQ capabilities after the amp is profiled? Limited in any way-do you only have the amp EQ'd the way it was profiled or can you continue to EQ the amp after the profiling? That's the only concern I have.

Regardless-sounds great!!!

Hell yes! I plan on eventually profiling everything I have, and share with other kemper folk.

You can EQ it after the profiling. Only problem is, it's not the exact same tone stack as the real amp - which in a marshall's case is good, because the tone controls aren't as touchy as say a Bogner's as far as range. You can also add or take away gain after profiling, add amp sag, articulation, etc.

Did I also mention the amp models clean up really well with your volume control and it FEELS good to play?

I am impressed. I dont know about standing infront of the cabinet, but the clip sounds great!

Im getting one of these. This thing is game changing imo. That sounds dead nuts. Thanks for the clip!

This rules, you are cool for doing this.

I think the profiling thing is severely over-rated, but just the sim quality is great! I don't keep up on what the best VH axe-fx II patch sounds like, but I would not be unhappy with the Kemper here!

Totally incredible.
Does the amp settings make a difference? i.e. Did you need to dime your Super Lead?

How much does player style, pick attack, technique, affect the profiling. Does it profile the players touch, picking, etc.? How does that translate when you play something completely different with that particular sim?

Very Cool Brother!!

One question, after you profile the amp, did you take that profile and record direct?
