Kemper + A rack effects unit question

Can you control the kemper + an effects unit like the eclipse etc... in the loop of the Kemper, with just one midi controller?

I read the Kemper has no midi out, which may interfere with this?

I believe you would use the midi thru anyway if you were using an effect processor in the loop

I have an Eventide pedal that's midi controlled - use it with the Kemper, no problem.
