Anyone own the power head vr of the Kemper ? Is it loud enough like a 100 watt tube amp? I remember some time back I owned a axe ultra with 800 watt matrix power amp and it was no where close to 100 watt tube volume .

Looking into buying a Kemper power head but want to here from people who own it . I will be running it out of Mesa 4x12 and Marshall cabs

I've owned one for about a year now. It's plenty loud and I sometimes run it through a Marshall 4x12. It's not tube power loud but it's definitely loud enough just about any size gig.

Does it have Body to the tone like say a rectifier ? How loud would you say it is compared to tube power? 50 watt Marshall ? Etc. I know it hard but I'm trying to get a base line lol

I'd say it's closer to a 50 W head then a 100 w. Trust me it's plenty loud.

Hmm like a 2204 50watts? Plexi 50 watts ? ;)

I'm REALLY gassing for one ! May sell off a few pieces of gear and order one up. Prob hold on to my 88 2203 half stack .

I here the Kemper power section is really sensitive to impedance . 8 to 4 ohms should get it cooking

I wanted to borrow a friends unit to play around with but he needed it . I owned a axe fx ultra with Mesa 2/90 and did not like the axe just lacked what I was use to (power tube wise). I here the Kemper is a lot closer feeling to true tube.

Yea, it's close but not tube. It sounds great through the FOH though.

They are great.

I prefer the passive head and run it with a separate power section. Currently I use a CLR neo wedge, and with that thing facing right at you, there's never a shortage of power.

This. I don't have the neo version but my CLR is loud and has plenty of power for me on stage. Love it!

I had the non-powered version and ran it into a EH Magnum 44 and a 2x12. It was more than loud enough for any live gig. The Kemper sounds great through a pa but it takes a little getting used to it through a guitar rig. The tone is there but it is different.

Well going to pull the trigger on powered model . I sure hope to fuck it loud enough with its built in 600watt power amp. Like I said the 800 matrix I had I though was NOT loud enough . I had to bridge it to be some what loud. Like 2205 50watt loud

Good luck man. I was jonesing for one of these for a while. I have tube amps, so I'm contemplating the digital route and am going with a CLR and an Amplifire.
I'd love the Kemper, but the thing is just overload for me.

Haaaa. Thanks bud. After spending time with my axe fx ultra you get use to it . The ultra sounded like poop though if you ask me . Just sounded fake non tube like

I've also wondered how these sound through a 2x12 vs a FRFR speaker. The Kemper I mean.
I'm pretty much sold on the Amplifire based on the sounds I heard, but if I go that route, I'm looking at a CLR wedge as well. For a little more, I could get the power head myself and go through a mesa 2x12. Too many damn options these days. Which I guess is good and bad.

Guys where can you buy/ get amp profiles for the Kemper? I'm waiting to get my Kemper in the mail to put serial number in to join Kemper forum . Any help would be great ! Big time newb to the Kemper stuff

Are some profile downloads websites better to buy from than others? I don't want someone's shit profile that knows nothing about tone if you know what I mean. Can you here them before downloading/buying?

I don't know anything about this so help me out lol

yes, I sent you a pm to check out. Most sites have sound samples to listen to.
