Kemper Profiler + Duncan Invaders - Metal (Free Profiles!)

I like the tones you're getting here, good job. Doesn't sound like a modeller to me. Did you have to mess around a lot with the raw tracks, or does the Kemper come close to these sounds by itself?

I put a HPF like I do for a real amp and added some compression. The Kemper gets ya 95% there though.

well, what do you think of the pickups? what do they compare to? more highs than the usual?

The Invaders and similar to a Duncan Blackout but with an incredibly large ass on them. Almost too dark in an all mahogany guitar but there's enough top end to be ok.

Thx a bunch, Bud! Sounds great! Adding it to my Kemper!

:)

Don't take this the wrong way but I didn't like that tone at all. It didn't have enough weird mids for me. :)

Different strokes for different folks man no worries!

Although Kemper claims the guitar used doesn't matter when profiling it actually makes a huge difference. The profile I used was done on a different guitar which makes a huge difference.

Hmm that doesn't sound right. I mean you don't actually have to use a guitar at all to profile, just within the refining process. Maybe you should use different guitars when doing the refining that way any harmonics and other odd noises will be captured that one guitar may not produce.

Well true but the Kemper is measuring how the amp is responding, and the amp will respond differently too different guitars (The profile was made using actives but in the video I used passives for instance).

Good idea though. Maybe I will play around with using different guitars during the refining process.

Sounds Killer Fluff... Just got a VHT 2/90/2 to power the kemper and run it through a Mesa recto cab and an old Randall cab in stereo and it sounds insane. I ran that DV profile just now and holy shit...Good job brother...

dwiz - how do I learn how to set that up? I've got a 2902 and a mesa cab as well - are the instructions more on the website or I don't remember a whole lot about that in the manual

The way I did it was just come out of the Master outputs of the Kemper and go to the input of the 2/90/2 then speaker out of the 2/90/2 to the cab.

If your running only one cab you can use the monitor out to the Mono input of the 2/90/2 then the speaker out to the cab. Make sure you turn off the Cab sim and it will sound so much better. I hope this helps... Let me know what you think and get ready to bring the house down.

Yep cant wait for my brothas Corpse and Juggy to take her for a spin. Petey's Fortin profiles sound absolutely awesome with this set up. Also found some really killer Friedman,Matchless and an orangutan profiles that killer for the the blusey stuff...

HPF or LPF?

Interesting. I guess I should scrape together some coin to try one of these for home recording and finally get something done. Thanks for the clips!
