Being new to the Kemper world I am looking for killer profiles.
Where is the best place to get them?

I know there is a Kemper support page, what are the other places to get profiles?
It sounds like it REALLY matters how the profiles have been done.
I don't want to pay unless the profiles have been recommended by Kemper gurus like you

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thx Bob, Darrell, and guys...are these also the "garden variety" prices?
I mean, what should this level of profile cost?

These are great suggestions, will be checking them out later today.

http://petesprofiles.weebly.com/ - His 72 Marshall and his Friedman profiles are great. The Van Halan pack was so-so, some rigs were too thin sounding.
http://www.theampfactory.com - If you like modded Marshall tones get the 1987 pack, they blow away everything else IMHO. All Amp Factory profiles seem to be top shelf.
http://www.soundside.de/shop/Profiles.htm - I did not like the plexi profiles I bought from these guys.

Figure $8.00 to $20.00 per package. I bought Pet's Friedman profiles for $10.00. The Amp Factory profiles can be had for $8.00 if I remember correctly.

You need to really try out some of the free ones these guys offer, you can find them either at their websites or on the Rig Exchange. This will give you an idea on how they sound.

Download the Rig Manager and the latest firmware. Rig Manager is very cool, you can edit, add, remove rigs from your Kemper and connect directly to Rig Exchange and with 1 click you can download and install rigs.

Good luck!

Awesome Mike, thanks...that was very helpful.

I'm a pretty big fan of Pete's profiles- I think he has a fantastic ear for tones- especially Marshalls & Fenders!
I grabbed the Rivera set from one of the other big names in the commercial providers and was super disappointed- the price was high, but even if it was free I would have been dissappointed. Everybody else loves them, so maybe it was a bad match for me? Weird thing is, they were promoting it hard like it was going to blow me away

I have a small list of amp profiles available here: http://xrayprofiles.bigcartel.com/
Here is a freebie from my Diezel D-Moll; let me know what you think:

Ray makes some great profiles. I would definitely grab the Fortin Marshall/Diezel D-Moll package.

Pete and Jimi (as mentioned), and I'll toss in SinMix and Black Stymphalian.

I had a few Kemper units over the past 3 years.
Today it seems like everyone under the sun is now a "profile expert" or is creating profiles for profit which I understand. The problem is, there are quite a few of them and not that many of them are all that good. There are several that I found of quality.

I had some decent success with M. Britt's profiles going to a regular guitar cabinet. The higher gain patches to a FRFR system sound like he is running through a 212 cab that is very boxy at times but through a regular guitar cab, all good. The clean and mid-gain stuff sounds great through any system.

Andy at the Amp factory is an awesome guy. His mid gain and clean stuff is stellar.

Pete Turley has some great profiles and I haven't found a bad one from him yet that I purchased in the past. He also has some unique and hard to find amps that were profiles. His Rectifier rack profile was one of my go to sounds.

Our own Rich Antonelli shared a couple of his Marshall profiles and they sounded great. I know he has now gotten into the profile for $ thing so I imagine what you are getting from him is quality as well.

I've had some great profiles from Top Jimi as well. His Marshall stuff is fantastic.

I bought a couple of Rectifier profiles from someone (forget who) but they really weren't all that good.

If you want a few great Triple Rec profiles, hit up Deadpan on the Kemper forums. Outstanding tone from his free profiles.

Do I miss my Kemper? Not one bit with my new setup. The only thing I miss is the convenience but in the end, I'm still carrying around some type of amp head, pedalboard and speaker.

Just do what I did - spend 3 years buying and selling every amp you've ever wanted and profile them yourself!

Thanks for the kind words! And all the guys on that list put out killer profiles. There's something for everyone there.
