About to pull the trigger on the kemper, however, if the rackmount is out soon, I think I may hold off for that...Does anyone know when it is supposed to be out? I can't find a clear answer, just curious if anyone knows...thanks!

Chris

Hey,

The rackmount Kemper is not due anytime soon. Maybe sometime next year I am told. I would love to help you with the new Kemper purchase when your ready to pull the trigger.

I assume this means you hadn't heard this yet yes??? I'm pretty stoked!

Yes sir, I was hoping it would happen. I probably won't have the ability to wait though.

This thing is insane...I am about to sell everything I own, and just use the kemper, a matrix power amp, a wireless, and 2 4x12 cabs....This.....thing....is....incredible...I mean shit, almost every clip I can barely tell a difference between the kemper and the real amp, and even if there is, all the refining controls on the kemper allow you to get it dead on: and sounds the original amp can't do...incredible..

Brad, the kemper is MIDI correct? So i could use say, a ground control pro and save/recall patches just a normal MIDI rig correct?

Also brad...when you are dialing in an amp, and you want more treble, maybe some more mids or whatever, does the kemper "remember" your settings on the bass/middle/treble/presence dials when you recall that certain patch?

Yes it is Midi and a Ground Control will work fine.

Reza that's the only thing worrying me, the fact that it's still a beta product essentially.... Haven't heard very many issues at all though

Has anyone done a video/clip comparison between the kemper and axe's tone copy thing?

I'm thinking about picking up one or the other. I'd have to wait for the rack version of the kemper if it out performs the axe though. Even though it only comes down to aesthetics, I don't like the look of the kemper.

Im waiting. I got burned pretty bad by Axe Fx purchase at the wrong time with no upgrade policy.

Kemper has been in the business of music equipment far longer than cliff, easily since the 70's. and you cannot say we warned you ahead of time about the upgrades when the first standard rolled off the line only a few years ago.

Do not compare you experience with a company that loosely resembles a parade of monkey's following a zookeeper holding a banana to other companies who have done nothing to deserve it - if you want one then grab it and enjoy it. Not really fair to say one asshole is like them all.

Kemper has been on top of issues, and have recently released improvements and stomp box add ons, they will support the product, and better yet, the users will support it to by continually adding to the growing kick ass library. there are a few purchases in my life that have been indespensible, and the kemper is one of those for me. It is a killer recording tool that I still feel is the best.

Axe tone match is very cool too, but honestly I like the layout of the kemper more, its easy, to the point, and sounds amazing.... do'nt have to dig through menus within to route and change stuff.

I don't need a rack version personally, if its really that big of a deal, then I would suggest going axe or something racked up, cause who knows when it will come out.

Yup, best gear purchase I've made in a long time. Gigged with it since february. Also using a ground control pro and two controller pedals for volume and wah.

The thing seems fantastic..It is more my "style" I guess you could say than the axe, and quite frankly, I haven't played one (although I have a good friend who is a very well known engineer who is using it non stop, and loves the thing, I trust his opinion), but judging by clips, etc, the kemper seems to blow the axe away as far as real tube amp sounds go. Don't get wrong, I think the axe sounds fantastic, but im not so sure I would be able to pull off some of the tones I hear recorded. The kemper seems infinitely easier to get a good sound, and is damn near SPOT ON, on every clip I've heard...I think it will be my next purchase for sure next week, just seems fantastic

The reason I am waiting for the rack is beyond aesthetics. I would really love to put it in a rack bag next to my Axe Fx and run it in the Axe's loop. Would be nice to have it all wired up and just plug in and go at gigs.

Hopefully by rack time they have all the little niggles worked out as well.
