Meh, most of those bands are pretty lame IMO.

+100, plus some of the song choices do absolutely nothing for me :aww:

Maybe it's just me, but I couldn't imagine Machine Head pulling off a decent Hallowed Be Thy Name. :aww: I don't think Rob Flynn has the voice for it. Though I've never been a Machine Head fan, so maybe I'm missing something? He's no Bruce Dickinson as far as I can tell.

ugh..sounds like an abortion in the making...that Numbers of the Beast tribute album was bad enough and that was done by guitar and rock legends....this is sure to disappoint

C&C's cover of The Trooper is probably the only one I will like. And Metallica???? They are terrible these days that will probably be terrible.

nope...Metallica's covers have generally ben pretty awesome and have godly tone for Garage jams.

I'm looking forward to the disk 'coz Maiden is the metal band I cut my teeth on....generally speaking I love covers, especially older songs updated with modern tones.

Nativity in Black I/II(? although there are a couple of quite horrible versions on these :D )
Tribute to the Voice of Metal (Dio)
Garage Days I/II etc.

Metallica's covers used to be awesome. But they have been far from awesome for a long time.

They can't even pull off their own songs...they sucked when I saw them...

Coheed's cover of The Trooper kicks all kinds of ass. It will be badass to have a studio version of it finally!

Last time I saw them (NWFT Tour), they didn't plan on playing it, but I ran into Claudio and begged him to play Junesong and The Trooper, and they played them both!  How cool is that?

well, fuk avenged sevenbitch and metallibitch...other than the mh, trivium & devildriver, i'm really not that interested.
i've never even heard most of those bands. wait...year long disaster is pretty fukn sweet and i think running free will be right up their alley.

the kerrang master of puppets cover album was cool but it was the entire album and it did have a few "unknowns" that were fukn a horrible. but the mh, trivium, chimaira and mastodon songs were awesome. i'm not too picky wit covers (unless it's absolutely terrible) cuz i like to hear a new band's twist on an older tune. i like it more when they completely freak the song out (ala type o negative) cuz honestly, if i wanted to hear it sound like the original, i'd just listen to the original.

The kids from Black Tide will probably do the best job.

Is that the new kiddie metal band everyone is raving 'bout? How old are they 17? 18? I bet they'll do well too..they prolly only just quit playing covers full time anyway

Black Tide will do a good job I'm sure, but Prowler isn't too difficult a song to pull off. Even though I still love it.

Yeah, they're incredibly young. Their album is great though. They do a cover of Hit The Lights and absolutely embarrass Kirky Hamster with their versions of his solos.
