Standalone Cab-Switcher, or to expand other switchers with +8 Cabinets.

AFX 8x - 8 switchable FX-Loops
FX-Loop Switching unit as an add-on for the ACS 8x4 and the ASX 8x

Features
  • FX-Loop Switching - Connect all amplifiers FX-Loops to the ACS, and share effect pedals like Delays, Gates, Reverb and Chorus with all amps. (optional feature)
  • Attenuator Insert - Use Power Attenuators like Boss Waza TAX, UA OX, THD Hotplate, ... across all amps, by inserting them into the post-amplifier / pre-speaker insert loop.
  • Dual-Cab Mode - activate and play two Speaker Cabinets or Loadboxes in parallel at the same time.
  • Midi Control - Manage your entire amp collection at your footstep by using MIDI Footboard to control the ACS.
You can also use Desk Controllers, Midi Keyboards, or control the ACS by your DAW for maximum flexibility and convenience.
  • Link-Mode - For some hardcore amp freaks, a single ACS is not enough. The new Link Mode lets you combine and link unlimited ACS Systems together, creating massive amp setups, like 8x8 12x4 16x8 24x16 and many more.
Mix and Match the different versions, and grow your switching system with your needs!

Safety Features
Switching tube amplifier is not that simple – bad and expensive things can happen if your amps sees no load. The KHE ACS is 100% safe for your precious tube amps:
  • Load Resistors - All unused amps are connected to a dummy load to protect the amps, simulating a speaker cabinet to protect your amps. All unused amps get muted at their inputs, so no signals can reach the power amp.
  • Load Detection - each cabinet output jack is supervised for the presence of a physical speaker cabinet (or load box).
If no real load is connected, the cabinet outputs are automatically locked and excluded from the switching process. This ensures amplifiers can NEVER be activated without a real load connected.

Plus:
  • Compatible with tube and solid state amps, heads, combos, class-d amps, speaker cabinets and loadboxes, up to 150W per channel!
  • digital controlled relay matrix - all-pole make-before-break switching for reliable and safe operation
  • no hum or buzz - a programmable ground lift circuit eliminates 99% of all ground loop problems
  • Rear and front guitar input for easy reamping setups
  • Tuner output, which can also be used to key trigger inputs of Gate pedals, or to record a parallel DI-Track
  • digital control - no chance of activating a amp without load
  • silent switching - it's more silent than most of the amp's channel switching!

Switchers are in stock, ready to ship!

As soon as I get some extra cash I'm grabbing a 4x2 from you guys. I have a couple friends who have one of your switchers and they all love them.

awesome, glad to hear they like them

I really like the features of the ACS 4x4 FX. Can you clarify one thing in your manual for that unit: is a reamp box needed if running the output of my DAW to the ACS input? I was a little confused about the wording in the manual.

I don't mind if you post here as long as you never say wit ever again?

hi geisterfaust, it depends a bit on the design of the lineouts of your interface. some interfaces work perfectly without a reamp box, with some interfaces a ground loop can happen because of the multiple ground points. this is where a good reamp box helps, which provides galvanic isolation (removing hum and buzz). hope this clarifies it, if not, let me know :)

sorry for the typo, "with" was the word i wanted to write :)

I really need something like this for my home recording/setup. First thing is can you offer an easy to find or read price list that's in USD and Euros?

I have to keep clicking on different products and bundles to find prices and if the item is sold out the price is gone.

I just want to see how much the 8 amp and 8 cab bundle will cost, I may also grab the effects loop as well.

Also my other question is in the specs it says it will support an amp up to 150 watts, so that means Mesa Collesiums and Marshall Majors are out of the question? Will you offer a heavy duty version for the bigger amps in the future?

Hope to do business with you soon...

USD : CHF = about 1.03 : 1.00

Edit: prices look zeroed out when none in stock. Think the new FX loop one was about $1,100. So cheaper than a comparable Ampete.

He wrote this on TGP in response to a similar question

hi guys!
the 150W power rating refers to the switching capability of the power relays which switch the amp-outputs and the speaker cabinets.
each amp has it's individual load resistor to protect the disabled amps. in addition, the inputs of the disabled amps are muted, so the load-resistor only sees the noise-floor of the amp, which is very small compared to the full-power signal. so the load resistors are a smaller power rating compared to tradidional loadboxes or power attenuators.

let me know if something is still unclear :)

ah i see! the bundles are always "sold-out": due to inventory management, i have to set them to 0 stock, you have to add the units from the bundles individually (for example if you want the 8x8 bundle, you have to add the ASX8 and the CSX8 individually). i have to highlight this better in the product description of the bundles, sorry for the confusion! (actually, none of the switchers are sold-out so far)

about the power-rating question: what is the power rating of those amps? the 150W limits come from the specs of the power relays and pcb traces. you actually can use amps with more than 150W with the switchers, as long as you don't use their full power. i assume you would also use other amps with 100W with the switcher? as long as you run the bigger amps with similar volume to the smaller amps, it will be no problem.

let me know if this answers the question :)

Wow so the new ones have a shared FX loop now? That is awesome!

Can any of the switchers have two cabs active at the same time?

....I just went on the website and it seems dual cab function is basically this?

Also would it be possible to run two amps at the same time , 1 amp through the first cab and the next amp through the other for a dual amp stereo rig ?

Thanks for your previous response but I still want to add...

Regarding the prices I mentioned in my previous question, could you please make them more visible and easier to see, maybe you don't want to do a price list on one page for all items for marketing reasons or whatever but you are competitively priced and shouldn't hide them. They are very reasonable when I can actually find them after clicking five to six times.

All I am saying is at least show them on the product page of the specific item if it's in stock or not. Also show them in USD, GBP and Euro because honestly the average American doesn't know the price to 1 USD is within 3 cents to CHF. I had to do a separate search to figure that out as well.

If this was an item I was somewhat on the fence on I would of stopped after two or three clicks and not seeing a price and moved onto something else or another subject on the gear forums. Since I am very interested in your product I kept clicking and am offering you feedback here. Most of these boutique gear companies that keep prices hidden or hard to find is because they are astronomical compared to other manufacturers.

I just think it would help you in selling your product internationally. As an American, which I am sure a lot of your customer base will be, we are mostly stupid so keeping an easy to read price and cost of shipping will help you in your overseas sales.

glad you like the new fx-loop switching function :) needs a lot of cables, but totally worth it imho!

yes, all the switchers can activate two cabinets / loads in parallel (this feature is disabled by default, see Dual Cab Mode in the manual on how to activate it.

no, this is not possible unfortunately. it would nearly double the cost and size of the switcher (much more complex relay matrix needed)

many thanks for your feedback, it's much appreciated :) i will work on the store and product pages today or tomorrow and update some things, so prices, shipping and availability is better visible. thanks again!

Hey all! Just saw this thread and thought I’d share.

rXQSgycl.jpg

I have one of the new 4x4 models with global effects loop. It’s amazing. Switching is dead quiet. I control it with my Fortin Hydra. Super simple to set up and create presets. I’d been patiently waiting for this guy as I really wanted a switcher with effects loop sharing for pedal demos.

Last year I purchased the 8x4 Amp-Cab-Selector. I love it. I wish I would have held out for the loop option. Great piece of gear.
