Killer video. Viv's tone in 83 is killer. From what ive read...it was just a JCM800 and a Boss SD-1/OD-1.Cool post..

I was supposed to go to a show on that tour with my buddy, we were like 12? We had his mom drive us and she was going to drop us off only we went the wrong day. We were a week early. When the right date came around I had the flu and missed it. Cool to finally see it.

And maybe a touch of chorus. I agree though. Sounds just like that tone.

And an Invader pickup.

Always loved this concert, Viv was on fire. IMO Viv lost something when he started using super strats and trying to compete with all the 'LA guitarists' around the time of Last In Line, even his tone was thinner.

Thank you for posting...really dig the fervor in his playing.

Wrong band and thread, but your story reminds me of my freshman year of college when my friend and I took the train to his house to see DLR Eat Em and Smile tour with Extreme opening. We get home and find out, it was cancelled. We were pissed.

DLR and Extreme would have been an awesome bill! Was this in the Boston area before Extreme was signed?? They were signed in '88, and the Eat Em & Smile tour would have been in '86. Extreme did tour with DLR later on the Lil' Aint Enough Tour in '93 -- I think Cinderella was also on that bill.

I saw DLR with Tesla opening up at Nassau colisseum and that show was incredible. DLR was great and Tesla had just come out with Mechanical Resonance and blew the roof off the motha!!!
