Anyone into him back in the early 80's? He was a kickass guitar player a very underated imo.
Brought this up because I was just given some tickets to go see him on the 25 of feburary...it will be a blast from the past and im sure i'll be impressed guitar wise also...never had the chance to see him live back in the day.

oh yeah. Got decisions to be made between lager and ale!

I never did see him live, but always liked him and the man can play some serious geetar

He's an afternoon DJ here in Toronto as well and seems like a real cool guy. Have fun!

My band opened up for him a few times back in the 90's. Great dude!

Go For a Soda is the only song I know off the top of my head, but I like it.

Remember him well, but not for his 6 string prowess but for his giant hit when I was a senior in high school - Patio Lanterns.

Never really looked into him further but understand he was a huge hit in Canada before and after that song.

He really let it rip in the band he was in before, Max Webster. They were buddies with Rush also...great guitar player. He became more commercial with his own band later with Patio lanterns and Might as well go for a soda, etc. Check out his more obscure tunes and his guitar playing will be much more evident.

Actually kinda knew him through the grapevine. Great guy, awesome player...

Kim's latest, Ain't Life Amazing is the best thing he's done in years.

Here's a cut:

Anyone here old enough to remember Max Webster?? That was some DAMN fine Canadiana back in its day

Max Webster rock in there day. Great player, but he does not shred like he use to. It's about the song and not shredding. Songs make $, u sell more records. Was on a few of the bills together back in the 80's. Cool to be playin on the same bill as one of your idols. Great cat also !

Awesome guitar player, tremendous sense of humour and totally anti-star. And yeah, I'm old enough to have a couple of Max Webster vinyls. Great rock band.

Kim Mitchell did play with some awesome musicians too: Lou Molino, Peter Fredette just to name a few.

Max Webster who??? :D Kim is the man. Always been in my fav guitar players.
