Anyone ever have the pleasure of comparing the two?

I finally have the Jouster along with its' leaner brother, the Jester. Actual full-voltage 12AX7 preamps in the form of pedals (as well as the humongous footprint size to sport it all). I can get girthy, 3D gainy sounds all day almost like a Diezel...but that bogner hair just isn't there.

Running it all into a modified Traynor YBA1 sporting some =C= 34's.

Do I run along with the Jouster and Jester and enjoy my rare, hard-to-find, unappreciated, 3D gain and girth for days setup or do I give in to the latest/greatest fad in these surprisingly musical "must be some X factor" new Bogner pedals?

Depends on your needs.

The Jouster is a Tube Pre which will sound really good into Cab IRs, solid state Amps etc.

The Bogner Pedal as with most solid state pedals is more dependent on the Amp which follows it.

If you don't mind the added noise , a cheaper pedal will probaby gain up the,Jouster a bit ....
