There seems to be a never ending list of what overdrive sounds good with my Marshall so why don't we start yet ANOTHER repetitive post about Klon clones? It is the one flavour of pedal I have not tried. When I listen to back to back clips, the Klon or KOT's do seem to have that clarity and punch that some of the clones don't have. Pushing a good crunch into some gain, what do you like? The Wampler stuff to my ears adds a bit too much bass, what gives you just more of what ya got?

What? How did a whylie old rig talk vet like me screw that one up?! ..tried a Timmy, wasn't my bag. Anyway feel free to get rid of this thread mods!

I like the mythical archer quite a bit. I have a real klon here right now, and it compares favorable with it

I've heard good things about the Ceriatone Klon clone, psychodave has one and he likes it.

I have ceriatone and its great but huge on pedalboard. I have a mini wampler tumnus that is pretty good too

The J Rockett stuff is great. I like both the silver and gold versions.

lol
I just said that cause Timmy is the answer, even when it's not.
Since we're talking, I've had Ceriatone, Archer Ikon, KTR, Monsterpiece Stud, PCE Aluminum Falcon, and one other grey hammertone smallbox I can't remember the name of.

I'm keeping the KTR and the rest are gone.

Went down that rabbit hole and tried dozens of klones
Here are my top 2 picks (in order of preference)

#1 Arc Effects Klone
#2 Chellee Poneyboy

I really like the Mythos Mjolnir and the Ceriatone Centura. Both are damn close to the real thing.

I'll 2nd the Mythos Mjolnir. I bought one about 3 weeks ago and just loving it.

I have a few and have owned several. The KTR and Ceriatone Centura are the best in my opinion. The Archer is a close second. Overall, the Centura and KTR share something totally unique with the Klon Centaur. That little something cannot really be described but you recognize it in tone and feel. Other pedals are extremely good at nailing everything about the Klon except that one little thing. That is probably why a lot of people keep their KTRs and Centaurs while the market is flooded with all the other Klones.

The KTR and Centura are a little different in their own unique ways. The Centaur absolutely nails the original Centaur. The newer KTRs nail it too, but just a trifling bit hi-fi. I perceive just a teeny bit more clarity and presence. I say that because I have 2 KTRs. One is from around 2012-2013 and the other is a few years older, I think 2016. The 2013 is just like the original Centaur, but the 2016 has that wee bit of hi-fi presence. Hardly perceptible though. I had to click them back and forth over several practice and recording sessions to catch on. The Centura is exactly like the Centaur, and has the same vintage warmth and similar peculiarities of the controls. For example, the gain knob seems to mostly affect the sustain until it reaches noon, then it starts to add some distortion. The Centura's volume control is very powerful so it matches the Centaur's 11:30 output level by the time it reaches 9:30. The KTR output is very similar to the original Klon.
