I just bought a Klon KTR from someone on another forum. When I received it, the LED light wasn't working. He shipped the item quickly as promised and it arrived in mint cosmetic condition. Everything seems to function perfectly except the LED. The LED is soldered directly into the circuit board, and it seems simple enough to solder in another LED, but I'm not sure if there is any kind of special care required to do so as I'm not a tech. I tried contacting Bill Finnegan via email a week ago, but didn't get a response, so I'm assuming that getting him to fix it just ain't going to happen.

Therefore, I have a couple of questions. First of all, if I can solder guitar electronics, then would it be safe to assume that the LED replacement should be relatively safe? Second, what you ask from the seller? Could a bad LED possibly indicate another inherent problem, therefore making it advisable to get a refund, or should some other form of compensation be requested? If so, what is a reasonable request?

Does it work other than the LED lighting up? Are you using a power adapter or battery? I've had pedals that the LED would barely light with one adapter and worked fine with others.

Everything works except the LED. I hooked up a 9v power supply and also a battery.

I have had led come back on after just cleaning them with Deoxit Gold.
