I'm seriously looking into getting a Strandberg Boden 6. Having Ola make one wil take 2-3 years, so that's out of the question.

Washburn makes them for the USA market for about $3200. Now, I've played a lot of Washburns & never been too happy with their stuff. Paying that kind of money for a Washburn built Strandburg which is probably mostly done via a CNC machine is a little steep.

I read online that Ola just introduced a Korean made version of the Strandbergs in Nov 2014 for the Asian market for about $1700. This is lot more reasonable.

Does anyone know where in Asia I could possibly purchase one?

Strandbergs made in Sweden are cut by machine. Not top of the line Haas CNC either. Last I viewed the website it was kind of a mickey mouse computer controlled set up. What really made me curious was Ola chronicling how he soaked a guitars top in water overnight so he could bend the top. I am pretty sure most luthiers dry the wood to a certain moisture content before using it in a build. Never heard of anyone soaking wood to bend it. I'm sure the "hand built" means hand sanding and fretwork. My suggestion would be finding one used. A lot of people with Strandbergs made in Sweden have been selling them.

All the used Strandbergs I've see for sale have been 7 & 8 string guitars. I'm only looking for a Boden 6 & preferably with a Mahogany body.

A Washburn USA model Strandberg will run me close to $4000 when all is done. A Korean one will cost 1/2 that amount.

The asian Strandbergs are only available as 7s currently with ash bodies and maple necks. Ishibashi still has some but IIRC they won't ship them to the US. Ikebe-gakki had some but they seem to be sold out.

Thanks for the info. I really do want a Boden 6 so perhaps they will have them in the new year.

I have a hard time shelling out $4000 for a Washburn Strandsberg, escpecially since I've never played or seen one in person.

Apparently the Boden 6 willbe available in Japan in March for around $1,400
