I played the Winter NAMM 2010 demo for about two hours at the Krank factory.
Simply awesome. In a nut shell, very aggressive "classic" rock tone, voiced completely different than the Rev/K-stein "modern" tone.
Two 6550's for 80 watts. Not super saturated high gain, but very clear and open.
If you need mush and compression to cover semi-sloppy playing, you will not like this amp.
Very hard and wicked sounding with a TS in front, in a good way.
Covers a lot of Marshall-y ground from crunch to "approaching" metal.
Bass is not as tight and focused as Rev/K-stein.
It may disappoint you if play low down tunings, baritone or 8 string super heavy metal.
Rock, hard rock, some metal, this is an awesome amp that will impress people who have overlooked the Krank badge before.
I did not like the clean channel, I'm thinking part of this was the Nineteen80 cab loaded with Eminence Governors.
This produced great Marshall-like gain tones without an irritating mid spike, but I prefer the cleans from my Rev or Chadwick through a Swamp Thang loaded cab.
I do want to drag a couple of my cabs back down there and see what it does.
Still, very cool amp that tops my want list.
