Many amps.
The KT77 is a direct replacement for an EL34.
It will give you tighter bottom end, a little more headroom, and a little less midrange growl.
KT88's come stock in the Ultralead, Marshall KK, Baron, and a few others.
There are many heads that can take any tube you want like Fortins, THD, Peters, Etc.

Ultralead, Splawn Nitro, more I'm sure

The Diezels can take 88's, and surprisingly enough the right 88's will work in Mesa Dual recs.

this. i have KT77's in my TSL (modded) and the thing just sounds fuckin great.
it's a mid heavy kind of amp to begin with, and they just work great in it. it really sounds good. very inspirational amp.
i'd imagine they'd sound great in any good marshall or marshall style amp that has a shit ton of mids to begin with.

Ooh, thanks, buddy. :) That's great to know because I may pick up a Laney with El34s some time soonish.

I'm actually getting a bit of GAS for the Peavey 6534+ now, if I could replace the EL34s with 77s, I think I'd rather have 77s than 6l6, what are the differences there.

Compared to an El34, the 6l6 and 77 seem to be described similarly.

I had a Dual Rectifier biased for KT-77's,it took the grunt
away, less gain.Sounds ok,so I use it for cleans now and mild
break up. Blues stuff etc.like a Fender.

Pretty much any EL34 amp can take KT77 tubes I believe, as for KT88 tubed amps here's a list of amps which I know about.

Fryette Ultralead, Sig X and Deliverance. Plus the 2902 poweramp.
Diezel VH4, Herbert and Einstein.
Elmwood Modena 90.
Marshall Kerry King Signature.
ENGL Savage.
Splawn Nitro, Pro Mod, Super Comp, Pro Stock and Competition.

Put KT-77s in my XXX and really transfromed it. Sounds great, where before it was kinda chain-saw-ee...now its thick and much more organic. Much better than EL34s in that amp.

KT-77s have more mids than 6L6s, but slightly less than EL34s...but not scooped by any means. More balanced maybe...

KT-77s keep the high end shimmer of 6L6s too.

Don't forget the Jet City JCA100H :poke: . The bias range on the JCA100H is within KT88 levels and the transformers can take the load.

My[nitro has el34 tung sol in it. This is my third nitro, its bliss think I had a cab issue anyway if I put kt88 in it will I lose my grind I have going on now? Scott been using Sino tubes lately....advice?

Hey, I didn't know that! Awesome. Are the lower wattage models this way as well? Im thinking about getting the smallest one, and having it modded by Mr, Friedmen.

I just picked up a Laney GH50L. It currently has EL34's, but it's switchable to 5881's/6L6s.
I will probably try KT77's in it next. Possible 5881's.
