the question is why?

Like you need this double Diezels, Bruno, Egnater MOD100 (still have that?), and scores of vintage gear....

James Brown's at Kustom?

I had no idea they had a high gain head. How much?

would be interested in hearing it through a different cab. The Kustom cabs (at least the ones from 2 years ago) are total shit.

funny Kustom side note:
(dude ,in my town, traded two very old ORIGIONAL "real" randall cabs with real jaguars in for two new crap customs gawd. they were shitty and the store sold the cabs for $200 ea. )

I am ready for the Double Cross. Seems like it could stack up well against the Mesa Triple Rectifier. James Brown has been working pretty hard on this amp, just like he did at Peavey with the 5150.

Check out the interactive Double Cross. You can go through some of the tones available. Cool stuff!!!!

Gotta say the thing sounds awesome especially in the demo Videos.

$1600.00 though? I'm not sure I'm ready to invest that in an amp that has not been road tested yet. Maybe in a few months after it's been out for a whil.

to be honest, tone is kinda ss sounding and dull from the videos on the site

We opened for Bobaflex a month or so ago, and they were running some Kustom full stacks (got em as an endorsement) and they didn't sound half bad. Not sure what amps they were, but they sat in the mix real well, and they definitely don't have racks full of gear off stage to help with that.

I actually really dug the Rhythm Channel tones in those videos. The clean/breakup tone especially.

Yeah, I think so too. I don't know if it's the recording or the amp, but that fizzy, bland tone of Lead 1 doesn't inspire me at all... Something's off with the compression too. Lead 2 sounds slightly better, like an average Marshall depending on whatever he switches on and off on the amp, but still doesn't make me want to check one out.

To me, it's not a good sign if they put this much effort in a website and clips and still don't succeed in making it sound good.

Also, who markets a metal amp with crosses on the front panel and a logo consisting of brass knuckles?

Or maybe I'm just in a grumpy mood again.

James Brown has been with Kustom for a few years now. his first amp with them was the Coupe series, which I think sound pretty damn good. Like a Shiva with more gain.

i am going to check it out when i go to namm this year.

James Brown is a pretty talented guy and i liked the stuff that he did at peavey.

it is nice to see guys who are willing to try some different stuff.

when you try to push the enveleope there will always be some hit and miss.
