Anyone else here watching the season finale? We are 30 minutes in to a 2 hour event and it has already mindfucked me several times.

Jacob is all over this shit. WTF is going on

It is fucking ridiculous for sure. You should tune in just to know what it is like to be so confused you pass out.

And Pens FTW!! I gamecentered it on NHL.com

Indeed. And what it is is a great show with great characters. The last 5-10 minutes of this episode are probably going to just fuck shit up so hardcore my nose will start bleeding.

I'm so fucking confused right now. I have a feeling that whoever that guy was talking to Jacob at the very beginning is the guy who is impersonating Locke. The only question to that is, who the fuck is that dude?

while my wife and I still watch it, that show jumped the shark a WHILE ago..once they introduced the people from the other section of the plane (ecko, etc) and got away from the core characters it wasn't the same afterwards...and THEN the whole time travel thing

there's still so many unanswered questions...

WHAT
DO
THE
FUCKING
NUMBERS
MEAN?!?!?!??!?!?!

and as someone else said, jacob's all over the place in this one..out of NOWHERE...NOW we see what he looks like? NOW they're ret-conning him into the characters' lives before they even got on the plane in the first place??

this show rocked the first couple seasons then lost its way....it's been hit or miss since then

although the very ending of the show tonight was half decent....but I think I'm glad that next season is the final season

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..good call..he did say he was going to kill him one day didn't he..nice catch, man

Do you guys remember in season 1 when Locke teaches Walt to play backgammon? Locke holds up 1 black piece and 1 white piece and says "2 sides, 1 light, 1 dark". That line right there in probably the 2nd or 3rd episode set up the WHOLE FUCKING SERIES!!!1 Jacob versus Silas from Deadwood. That is brilliant writing and foreshadowing before we are really even paying much attention in season 1.

i've never seen one episode all the way through, but my brother in law was in the season opener this year.

he's the guy that took the cell phone picture of the dude that threw someone over the balcony

I doubt they even know what they were going to do with the series at that point....lol....

I don't know. When the first season started, I read something that said that they had 5 years worth of material.

I still like it.

I like certain elements of it..at this point I'm just still watching to find out what's really going on..most of the time I'm either frustrated at the show or I'm just scratching my head...let's face it, outside of desmond, all the other people they introduced that one season (mr. ecko, etc, etc) just totally seemed like filler material....

One of the best shows to come on TV in years IMHO. It has its flaws for sure but great show none the less. Loved the season closer this time. I'm glad they arent going to keep this going on and on until rating drop. It's a cool story that needs a closing. And no, the writers had an end from the get go, this wasnt made up as they went.

well it certainly felt that way ;)
I watched it more out of habit starting about half way through.

We'll see if they can actually answer the multitude of questions over the course of the final season.

Hopefully it'll redeem itself in 2010, but I'm skeptical.

Lost is like a mediocre blow job that takes forever and never finishes.

I just can't get into that show. I watch more educational stuff these days(natgeo, disc, science, history, smithsonian, etc) so that could explain it.

I just finished watching the finale and thought it was absolutely epic. So now we know Jacob's enemy took Locke's form. Imagine Jacob takes Locke's form too and we end up with Locke v Locke, good v evil, kinda referring back to when we saw Locke with one black and one white eye. Also remember when we first saw "Jacob" and it looked suspiciously like Locke in a wig. Maybe it was...

I cannot wait for Season 6.

*SPOILER ALERT*

From the finale, it can be concluded that:

Jacob lives in the remenants of the Four-Toed Statue (which is an Egyptian statue of Taweret or a combination of Taweret and Anubis...gods of evil, death, afterlife, and childbirth/protection of mothers/children).

The other man in the flashback with Jacob on the beach is Esau. In the Bible, Esau is Jacob's brother.

Esau wants to kill Jacob. Jacob knows this, and possibly wants it to happen.

Esau once lived in the Temple but at one point was in the Cabin and trapped there by the ring of ash, which he manipulated Claire into breaking so he could escape.

Jacob brought The Black Rock (ship) to the island. Richard Alpert was possibly on this ship.

Jacob probably helped set in motion the events that brought the Oceanic passengers to the island in the first place so they could carry out the events that lead to Ben stabbing him.

Esau can shape-shift/take on other forms (Christian, Locke, and etc.) in order to manipulate what others do.

It seems like a battle between free-will and fate/destiniy/what will happen has happened. I can't wait for the last season!
