I saw that too. How good is the high gain on the royal atlantic? can it get into mark territory?

It can get really good. I just haven't had a chance to fully record all the clips I want to yet. I will though and will post a link to them shortly.

As far as a Mark ... It would be totally different. I mean, the Mark's gain is uber compressed sounding and that is just not the character of the RA. I thought I got some nice Recto/Mark tones when I boosted the amp with the Fulltone OCD. It just created too much feedback and noise though overloading the signal like that. It definitely has great high gain, sort of like the Foo Fighters sound on the One By One record (think "All my Life" or "Low"). Those tones are easily in this amp. I am pretty sure that the Foos used heavily boosted Vox AC30s for most of their recorded gain though on that record ...
