Laney GH50L question

trying to figure out if it's possibly to run the amp in this configuration...

it's got a high and low input and the manual says that the low input is approx 50% less gain...sounds like a nice way to change up the sound a bit.

would it be possible to run my guitar into one of those a/b boxes and switch between the two inputs?
 
I'm pretty sure plugging into one input cuts off the other one, so not without modification.
 
ah i see...have you played one before? or are you just guessing? :D
 
When amps have both high and low gain inputs, using both at the same time typically reverts both inputs to low gain.

I haven't tested your idea, I like your idea though. I'm guessing, I'd be surprised if it was allowed to work that way, it doesn't make sense really.

Wouldn't it essentially be the same to run a clean boost pedal into one of the inputs and use that?
 
yup it probably would be the same...I was just curious to see if i had options- even if they were wacky options.
