This has been my latest project for the last few days. I started out with this:

Kramer610.jpg

The red one there. A Kramer 610. Imported Kramer from the late '80s that has a sweet 3 piece maple neck, flat rosewood board, I put an EMG SA in the neck, EMG S in the middle, and a EMG 89 in the bridge, with the mini switch for splitting the bridge. I also put a Floyd Rose Special with a big brass block in as an upgrade over the Floyd Rose II that it came with. It was a sweet guitar, but it was always missing something tonewise. These things had pretty soft plywood bodies and I think that was the problem there. Finally, one of the bridge posts tore out of the wood so I was going to fill it and redrill, but I found a body on eBay from a Kramer Focus 4000 which was the Rhoads V shape, solid wood and all that (probably alder), so I thought why not.

I got the body, just had to plug and redrill the holes (the neck pocket was the same, but the holes for the 610 neck were in a different place than the standard Fender holes, and I wanted to use the Kramer neckplate). I put the EMG 89 in the neck and put an 85 in the bridge. This thing is killer! The topmount Floyd is killer on this! Here's what it looks like now:

I'm really glad I swapped the body on this! The split 89 sounds awesome in the neck...this guitar doesn't look like I should play the blues on it though...
