I voted Canare compared to Proco, planet waves and George L the difference in price and sound makes no difference that really matters when playing in my Den or Living room..
Then again I would use them to play out because no one listening would know the difference anyways just like when I used Pro co for years...

Quite awhile back, I had my rig wired with monster. When they continually failed on me and I couldn't depend on them(one needs to be able to get thru shows, regardless of them replacing cables), I rewired everything with Canare. Keep in mind, I wasn't looking for a sound improvement at that point, just reliable cables that were good quality. I asked for advice on bulk cable and Mogami and Canare were the 2 everyone suggested. I could get Canare in bulk locally and it was a bit cheaper so that's what I went with. It literally sounded like I took a blanket off my rig when I first plugged in. Not thinner, just clearer. I could actual dial back the treble on my amps some.

me personally ,i did hear what i percieved as a more natural ,cleaner even tone...maybe its what i wanted to hear   ?
mattias jabs believes in putting a new guitar on stage for awhile...he said sound traveling thru the guitar after time makes the guitar sound better..in essence making a new guitar sound aged  i dont know if its something i could hear ,but who knows....in my opinion ,the evidence lyric hg sounded better than my other gc cables....now the speaker cable i heard no difference
Jabs theory makes sense if you think about it in terms of physics. Vibrations making the wood of the guitar resonate and move. It's the same theory that vintage acoustic guitars sound better because of age - the more they're played, the more the top vibrates. How does that affect the tone and can you really hear a difference? Who knows.

I have Mogami, Lava and Vovox for instrument cables. I lik the Vovox the most since it's easy to coil up and keep clean. It also doesn't tangle or twist.

I have planet waves right now but, Mogami is where it is at in my opinion though :D

I'm looking at:

Lava Soar
Vovox A
Evidence Audio Lyric/Siren

As for speaker cables, probably Vovox or EA.

Just thinking MAN, that's a lot of cake for cables, but hey, at least they all have decent warranties.

PS - I found this chart pretty neat:
http://www.lavacable.com/buying.html

Scroll down to the ranking, and then the capacitance ratings... Soar looks damn good, but I checked his prices and I can do better on both Vovox and EA with my local guy - by a LOT. Hmmmmmmmm :gethim:

For you, using that Bogner XTC, I'd go with Zaolla Silverline Artist Series(the ones with the solderless connectors). Quick, fast and similar to Van Den Hul tonally. Give it a bit of time to resolve itself. Use it-guitar, cord, amp. Let us know.

Thanks for the advice. I have a 20thA XTC, Diezel VH4S, Fryette 2/90/2 + Mako Mak 4 + Fryette Deliverance 4x12, several boutique 30W and 50W combos, etc. Playing styles go from very very pristine cleans to extremely over-the-top searing high gain uber-metal.

So I need something that allows the signal to be 100% rich yet neutral. Little loss through capacitance. Warranty would be terrific. Less hiss. If these lines can be guaranteed or warrantied for life?? I'm in. But I'm not throwing down on snake oil and smoking jackets.

If you are looking for an instrument cable check out the Vandenhull. Your not getting any better than that!

I redid my rig about a year ago and couldnt be happier. I did the whole front end (Guitar to head and pedal baord) in the Vandenhull. My rack is all evidence audio lyric HG and speakers are Kimber cable which is some of the best speaker cables I have heard at a great price. The Vandenhul is expensive but i have found nothing that comes close to it.

Vovox versus EA versus Lava Soar.

That's what this thread has come down to :aww:

Hope y'all having a great Sunday!!

I have always been happy with Canare and Mogami. If I had to choose one, it would be Canare simply because I have more of them I suppose.
