I could get any of those for around $500 or less
I'm in the market for versatile amp, with great cleans (country clean) and a good drive channel (classic rock, hard rock)that sounds good with single coils. It would be from 20 or so to 50 watts preferably and sound good at lower volumes. (we don't play all that loud, I never got the clean channel on my Traynor YCV40 past 10 or 11 o'clock playing live unmic'd)

Of those the Carvin has probably the best cleans. I had one and the cleans were killer, the drive was pretty good. I'm happier with a recently acquired Peavey Ultra though. Very good cleans and a great drive channel, plus one more, for half the money.

Which Carvin?

The XT-112 should be close, then. Carvin has all the X-Amps lumped together on their manuals and schematics.
The one I'm looking at is the 1B version with the Hot Rod Mod.
