Need help with this SG. Going to pick it up tomorrow morning and just want to make sure theres nothing that screams fake with this.
Most I know is it's a 2010 model SG Standard? Seems like the "Standard Limited" due to the color (which i believe is "aged cherry"). Pickups have been swapped out for 57 classics. Has push/pull tone pots, which was factory wiring.
*Any reason to think this guitar isnt legit?
*would this SG have a rosewood or baked maple fingerboard? (I thought gibson didnt start using baked maple until 2011?)
The guy I'm buying it from lost the original paperwork that said the model #. Hard to find information on this guitar on the internet!!(I hate how gibson is so difficult to figure out what model guitars are what)
All I've found so far is there was a model made exclusively for GC with the model SGGC6VCCH3?? Not sure if this is it? I'm REALLY confused with what original model this is because I found some musiciansfriend websites from the past that are still up with the specs:
1) https://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/ ... ups/h78103
*490R/498T zebra pickups
*rosewood fingerboard
2) https://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/ ... ric-guitar
*Nickel covered burstbuckers 1 and 3
*Thin, flat '61 SG "Speed Neck"
*Rosewood fingerboard
3) GC Exclusive "SGGC6VCCH3" model (no website)
*nickel covered Burstbuckers 1 and 3 (according to some guy on CL who was also selling a different one that he knew was infact this model)
*somewhere inbetween 60's and 50's neck thickness
*baked maple fingerboard
??? Any advice appreciated!
