My friend is starting a Motorhead tribute band. He and I have been brainstorming rig ideas. He's going do you need something consistent that won't break down. he also would like something to run a 2x12 and 2x15 he's essentially going to run a half stack version of Lemmy's Rig. Currently he has an Aguilar 212 bass cab and a hartke Ha5500. For his distortion he's using the mxr m80. We also would like to try to keep the cost low and find an amp with its own distortion. I have been thinking to maybe stay solid state so he doesn't have to regularly change tubes like Lemmy did.

I have never had issue with tube reliability gigging, but I have never left for more than a few days. But I do know what you mean. Super bass are big heavy and loud.

I like Mark bass for their SS. nice and light and loud. Especially the neo cabs. But again they are a totally different bag.

Are you going to go through a PA or not?
