I THINK I may have a pretty good deal on my hands from an associate...What should I be paying for a good condition, 1998 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty?

All original? Tulip style vintage tuners? 2 pups or 2? The bridge, is it the era specific ABR with that horrendously annoying wire spring retainer, or the slightly modded one without? Bumble bee components? Does it have a fret marker on the 1st fret of the fingerboard? 3 ply pickguard?

Gold hardware???

And what condition???

I'll price that puppy for ya

Thanks! 100% original...With the exception of the pick guard having been replaced. tulip style tuners. Black with all original gold hardware. Standard two bucker configuration...fretmarker on 1st...Not certain on the bridge ABR or bumbles. Condition is very good with a few light surface marks and minimal buckle rash.

Once the electronics are confirmed as Bumblebee caps - therefore all original (the ABR bridge isn't too big of a consideration, personally the era-specific one with the retaining wire is an annoyance due to its constant buzzing (not audible through an amp, but noticeable during all times of play, even buzzes from the vibrations of drums, bass and amp...grrrrrrrr!!)) - the going rate on a mahogany-on-mahogany Les Paul Custom black beauty in good to really good condition is more like $2200 give or take. This is providing it comes with COA and OHSC.

I don't think the '98s were made in Gibson's "Custom Shop" yet....believe it started a few years later. Based on that, it should not have BB caps and will have a short neck tenon. Also, they did not come with a COA either...

Apologies, neglected to take into consideration the date (after my lengthy diatribe). GOOD POINT!! I forgot about this. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek, I'm outta my league now. Seriously. I only know about true CS Gibbys.

Thanks guys...I'm looking at $1,800. Any thoughts on that?

yeah sounds about right but 2000 wouldnt be bad either..
