I just took delivery of a Jackson PC1 purchased from another forum member. The guitar is incredible. I´m planning to change all gthe gold hardware to black and will probably put an Suhr Aldrich in the bridge position. Perhaps will replace the middle single coil with a Dimarzio Pro Track or Chopper. Anyway, just wanted to share my new toy.

Cool. Good move on removing the gold hardware.

I LOVE the Aldrich in my Stratocasters. Heavy and clear with a big bottom end. Nice biting top end. Perfect.

Forgot how cool it is to play a 24 fret guitar. And the sustainer is great. I´m planning to keep this one for a long time.

I think these axes look awesome...look at the wcr murkat fo a special superstrat bridege..glad i did

I have an Aldrich in the bridge of my PC1 beastly sounding in it, I have the middle lowered so its not in my way of picking. Also changing the hardware to black, be awhile before I get the bridge though. Mine is the natural finish

I love those guitars. Does everything and has a slightly oversized neck for better tone but very comfortable. Nice job PC for desigining it. The sustainiac also serves as a great neck pickup when its not acting as a sustainer.

My favorite Jackson, the neck proved a little to big for me. But it is an incredible guitar.

The neck on mine is extremely thin. Similar to a Charvel Pro Mod.

I always wondered if I should find the older version with the original headstock (pre-fender) or go with the newer strat headstock. Does anyone know of other differences between the two?

The older ones have thinner shred style necks. The newer ones have a fatter neck. Not huge, but definitely bigger than your standard Jackson.

The older ones also have much nicer tops for the most part. If you're into fancy figured maple, you'll have an easier time finding more "wow" factor.

Really? I think the top on mine is pretty nice. In fact, I have yet to see a PC1 that didn't have a stunning top on it.

Although yours looks great, Jackson began using a lesser rated grade of top after the FMIC purchase according to inside sources. I've noticed it when looking...it seems especially apparent to me on the chlorine models.

I have a Chlorine that has a very nice top...I wanted a Solar colored one but AMS had a scratch and dent sale so I saved a bunch of cash on mine, and the damamge is on the back so no one sees it anyway !
