Here are the rules...must have a pre-amplifier and a power amplifier...(No Fractal Audio or Mesa Rackmount Heads)

For me...I would say a Mesa 20/20, JMP-1, Intellifex, and a Power Conditioner.
 
I can do that in 2 spaces; Rocktron Voodu Valve and one of those MAtrix rack amps....

No budget...Peters 2RU preamp, VHT power amp

On a budget

ENGL E530 preamp, 1 RU solid state power amp. (I used to have this exact setup in a 2U rack)

It is a specially voiced 6L6 VHT made mainly for overseas. There are 2 with US voltage. I got it from a member here who is actually buying it back from me soon. It is a great sounding amp, but heavier than most 4 space power amps. :lol: :LOL:

Really I'd use the X99 with this but you took 2 spaces away from me:

For direct I have been using the x99, a Manely pre and a Lexicon PCM 70 strait to the board (4 spaces). Sounds amazing. Might change the Manley to a Two-Notes LIVE soon.

I wouls run a Furman power conditioner, an Ampeg. SVP preamp, and a QSC 2450. That would thump the shit out of my Ampeg 8x10 and my Acoustic 2x15 loaded with Black Widows!

BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
