Of my guitars, the easiest playing neck is my EBMM Steve Morse Y2D, but this $125 Squire gives it a run. It may actually play better and it sounds great. I'm stunned after adjusting the neck and lots of fine tuning how well this thing plays.
It's a slightly thinner than a usual strat neck and it's unfinished...a little 0000 steel wool...so comfortable. :dunno:

you can see my guitars in my signature, there's no direct comparison between them but out of them this strat gets played with joyful glee and abandon. when i bought it, i went into buy a U.S. standard or vintage. in terms of playability and sound, this pwned them..

funny you say that about that mex strat though. i have my first jap squire from around 92. its at my mum's place over in ireland and i pulled it out at new years when i went visiting. that thing has a beautiful neck, and all the finish is worn off cos i played it so much.. thinking i might get myself a warmoth body and stick it on because the squire body is basically laminated wood. the neck deserves a better body

Kramer Focus 1000. The mid and neck singles don't work, but it plays great, excellent finish work, just a great guitar.

i actually paid full $360 pop for it new, they're now running a little over 200 used.

but it's my number one, hangs with Gibson Explorer and even my Hamer Standard.

im game

1988 charvel 475 special, with ibanez P-90 voiced single coils from the late-80's i took out of an old ibanez years ago (not shown in pic) and your average joe SH-6 in the bridge

ForSale034.jpg

after months and months of fine tuning on this guitar, it hangs with my ibanez prestige (selling, actually) and wolfgang that ive already sold.

I only have cheap guitars - expensive ones don't feel that different to me, so I just buy cheap and spend more $$$$ on amps :D ! Anyway, here's my clan of Rondo's and Squiers - I don't think I spent more than $200 on any of them except the floyded Rondo - I had to put a Gotoh floyd on it, so that cost me a little more (about $300 by the time I was done)...

Not really a cheap axe, but it was inexpensive for me. :D

Also my Black Beauty copy. It was free from a buddy. It had a cracked neck which I had repaired.  GTX 36 made by Kaman.

That's awesome!
The more expensive guitars come from the factory setup well...frets all dressed nice.
With something like a Squier or an Epiphone, in the store they play like crap...but they just need some adjusting. They can become just as good a player for 1/10th the cost.

Actually most of the Squiers and Epiphones are crap period...just have to wade through them. :D

I took that pic when I first got it, and the board was gross. It's much better now.

For sure, it's hard to find a great feeling neck...slap her on a body you like.
I'm gonna change out the pickguard, pickups and all the electronics...it's still only going to be a $500 guitar and a keeper.
With guitars, to me the neck is everything. If it's effortless to play I'm having fun.

yup, wade throug 'em - I can usually find one I don't have to pay for a setup - that's when it's a real good deal! And the darn things are so cheap, it's hard not to buy one when it's sitting there for $100 and it plays good! Of course I usually put in a new bridge pickup, but I've found some killer pickups at Guitarfetish for real cheap :) .

Everybody relax, I'm here. Arbor SG cost me a whopping C note. The pickup is noisy as all get out but what the hell...

Do tell which pickups are killer at Guitarfetish?
Interesting, I had some of their pickups bookmarked...any experience with these ones?

yeah totally, the pickguard is coming off the one pictured and getting replaced with a black one loaded with BKP's. that'l go on the new body for my squier neck and maybe a callaham trem and bang still less than the price of a second hand bottom of the range fender.

dude, the Neo9 rules for the bridge! I tried HS-3, some higher output virtual vintage dimarzio (vv solo, & solo pro) and the Neo9 was better than any of them. Serious stratty tone, but no icepick and plenty of output. And that was in the cheap Rondo, which doesn't sound very good "acoustically" if you know what I mean - kinda tinny sounding, but this pickup brought it to life.

My Frankenstrat:

Plays beautifully.

Warmoth Pro neck, good parts, SD '78/EVH pup, OFR

I don't know how much a "c note" is - but that guitar rules!

Dont have it anymore...

But had a Samick Blues Saraceno Radio Ten years ago, and played it more than my ESP or US BC Rich.
