Well, I'm scheduled to close on my first house on June 19th, and of course my only concern is what to do for a music room.

I'd like to see what your guys' look like. Maybe I can steal some cool ideas :D

Congrats on your new house bro that was a big concern of mine when I bought my new house was having a jam room. Well here is my 20x24 jam room in the basement. I just moved in and it's a mess man still working on how to set it up, I have no idea what I am doing  . One thing I have noticed is the sound is alot hollower compared to my old 10x10 jam room I had maybe this room is too big? So I could sure use some tips on what to do to make it sound better in there.

Rick

I use a basement bedroom. I store the cases in the closet. I use a combo of ultracases and Hercules wall hangers to keep guitars out where I can easily get them. I collect, but I play too, and I hate having to open cases. I stack amps and cabs (on the left there). And on the right there you see a "Container Store" mesh grille drawer set, good for storing pedals/cables/tools/parts.

I use every corner...

And V-Drums take up a lot less space than a real kit, and are easier to record.

Also, believe it or not the room actually sounds a lot better lining all the walls with amps, cabs, and guitars...when it was empty it was boomy, but not at all anymore.

Is that two PQ3's or a PQ6?

I used to use a PQ3 as a high gain preamp into a Marshall MKII Master Model 100w(into the low and set clean)....it was smokin!!!

80% of my stuff is at my rehearsal spot.

The other 20% is in my man cave (read: upstairs game room). With the pool table up there it wouldnt layout like you guys music rooms even if I had it all up there...

I dig the size/look of JB's room. Very classy. I think you need a plasma over the cabinet across from the couch though!

Haha, thanks man. That's the plan eventually. I have another 13x13 room off my main room and then another one behind where my cabs are. If I ever build it into a true studio, I'd put a window where my cabs are and have the room behind it as a control room. The big plasma will probably happen before the studio though...
:D

Damn, that's a big room

I've noticed the same thing when it comes to room size. The basement where I'm at now is wide open, and my tone always sounds a little weaker as compared to jamming at our drummer's place where there's an enclosed room that's about 12'x15'.

I don't think I'd ever leave the house

Damn guys! you have some sick ass music rooms... I am going to be moving soon. I am inspired... alas, my music room is the corner of my garage, and two corners of my drummer's garage... :aww:

My man-cave is a mess, but its always like this   I hate to post this after JB's clean layout :D very nice JB
