hi All,
Part of me doesn't want to sell this, but I just don't really use it that much. I have another Blade R3 in blue that I play all the time, and this one just doesn't get used.
Details:
-This was made some time in the early 1990s. Has a Fender headstock, so it's rare in that regard.
-It looks similar to the Silver Streak Headliner series, but it is not. It does not have a silver mirror pickguard or the Falcon tremolo.
-Humbucker is a more rock tone than other Blades, so it's not as dark as most Blades. I have kept this in the guitar because it sounds pretty good.
-The black pickguard was custom made to replace the gray pearl pickguard. I will include the original pickguard so that you can decide which you like better. There's a very slight warping in the black pickguard, but you don't notice it unless I point it out (it's by the neck pickup at the top). This could be fixed if some heat is applied to the black pickguard with weight on top of it.
-The middle and neck pickups are Fender noiseless. I still have the orignal Blade single coils, which are "okay" but do not sound all that great. I will include those.
-Comes with a Fender molded case, which by themselves are somewhat hard to find and cost about $170.
-Tremolo bar included
-Tremolo is a vintage style (not the Falcon).
-Tuners are Sperzel black locking
-This guitar is unusual in that it has a bass boost with the 2nd tone knob. If you push it out, you have the option of adding more bass (which I don't usually engage).
-Neck is very smooth and no dents as far as I can find.
-Ebony fretboard is very nice and easy to play.
-Guitar is set up well and ready to go.
-Truss rod works fine.
-This guitar is in excellent shape considering how old it is. Almost like new condition. Only very minor scratches.
-Heavy. This guitar weighs 9 lbs, which you will notice if you are used to playing Strats.
-Has contoured shape at the upper frets for easier access -- often seen on much more expensive custom guitars.
-The black tremolo cavity cover is new, as the guitar did not have one originally when I bought it.
-Made in Japan, like all Blades have ever been.
Asking $1200.00 USD for local pickup in Los Angeles area, or $1200.00 + actual shipping cost. If using Paypal Goods & Services, please add the fee to your end.
You are welcome to come visit my residence to pick it up or check it out, but I cannot drive to anywhere to meet you.
